Summary
Vampire hunts rage across the United States like the witch hunts of old. But in the shadows, rumors whisper of a grand escape plan. "Mina Tepes summons all the vampires of America," it says. "Reach the West Coast, and a ship will take you all to the Vampire Bund." Desperate to survive, hordes of vampires follow that rumor and make for the West Coast. There's only one small problem—the Vampire Bund sunk months ago, and Vampire Queen Mina Tepes is dead.

Dance in the Vampire Bund: Age of Scarlet Order review

A return of a cult classic of a well-beloved manga: Dance in the Vampire Bund. This was the first manga I've ever read as a kid and to this day, it's the best were/vampire manga to exist. Both the OG and Sludgehammer are really good, Scarlet Order is good too, but the ending felt rushed and there were couple of missing scenes. A.S.O on the other hand is good, but...how should I explain this? Now I'm having mixed bag. Let's go into full detail:

Story: After the rushed ending of Scarlet Order, the story continues with Mina and Akira trying to beat Katie, aka fake Mina. The story itself I like it, I can't complain. The only negatives I have is: 1) hammering irl politics into the story. It's really grating and cringy that it is barely manageable. and 2) even more plotholes and even retconing 1 event from the og series. I can't help but wrap my head around in confusement.

Art: I can't say much about the art. It's identical to the rest of the series. However, I couldn't help but there was some scenes that are skipped and it's bothering me. Also, idk if it just me, or the artist can't draw the werewolves' feet.

Characters: Along the way, we get returning side characters from the series, except they don't appear long as we get to introduce the "new generation" of werewolves that is Phoebe. While I do enjoy other characters and the adventures of Akira and Mina, I HATED Phoebe. She's arrogant, annoying, an idiot who makes dumb choices, no reason to be in the story, and what's worse, she's a Mary Sue SJW who thinks she's a boy and she drags the plot of one of the best Arcs in the new sequel and she is ruining it by making so much stupid choices. You can even remove her from the story and change characters and it doesn't change the plot. I hate her as protagonist and I want her gone as it doesn't fit with the series.

Overall: I do think the story is good, I just hate Phoebe that she is ruining the series. I feel like that this is more of a Side Story rather than a main one. If the manga deviates from the main story just like how they did to Dive in the Vampire Bund and have her own side story, then I wouldn't mind with it and it would be decent. But if this is the direction this series is going; replacing a cool and badass protag with an obnoxious one, I am so disappointed.
