Dekiai Paradox review

Dekiai Paradox (Blind Love Paradox) is a Shoujo, Smut, Romance, Drama about an odd love triangle. It has the overused “hates him, but falls in love with him” plot, so you will either love or hate this short manga.

Yet another shoujo manga where all the girls idolise the school prince (Kaoru Renjou), but being the odd one out, our heroine (Yumi Amakawa) has a thing for his uptight childhood friend (Yukito Kokonoe). Like always in these types of shoujo manga, the sadistic prince acquires an interest in our sweet little heroine and a twisted love triangle ensues. Sure this is an overused plot; nonetheless it is overused because it’s interesting. It would have been much better if the outcome wasn’t so predictable.

It also would have been better if the characters weren’t so stale. Yumi is your typical timid girl that only realizes her true feelings a bit late and the only two guys that appear are decent but more time was spent developing one and not the other. These three are what make up the weird love triangle, which is of an unrequited love and an unwanted love. Other characters are either unimportant or non-existent.

I would like to say this manga has nice, detailed artwork to redeem itself however there’s nothing truly outstanding about the way it looks, apart from the cover.

Overall Dekiai Paradox had potential but this particular love triangle plot is so common that it turned out being cheesy. This is really only meant for someone who’s really into love triangles but there are much better ones out there.
