Dungeon Seeker review
Well let me start off by saying that if this manga was any longer than 33 chapters, I would have dropped it. It was interesting enough to keep me entertained for a few hours, but I'm vaguely irritated.
It started off pretty interesting but slowly morphed into some middle school edgy bullshit. Don't get it twisted--I really like edgy manga, but only if the edgyness amounts to something. This manga is edgy just for the sake of being edgy. Back in middle school, I remember playing on an Emo Roblox server. Reading this shit gave me the same experience. This manga also tries to get you emotionally invested in characters that you know for like 2 chapters, thinking that you'll be shaken by it's "deep and interesting plot UWU". The conflict resolution is also one of the most unsatisfying that I've ever read, and that speaks a lot when you consider how bloody this manga can be at times. This ending in itself was a clusterfuck, and you can really tell that the author said "fuck it" at then end. In conclusion, it's a generic Isekai that's edgy (in a bad way) with a shitty ass plot. Fuck you Dungeon Seeker. You can seek these nuts. |
Dungeon Seeker review
tl;dr: shorter and slightly better arifureta because the author blatantly plagiarized large sections of arifureta
Plagiarism: For those that don't know, Dungeon Seeker started off as a "I can do better" attempt after the author read the Arifureta WN. Imo, they succeeded for the most part. Unfortunately, they stopped giving a shit in the second half and started copy/pasting large chunks of the story with a few name swaps here and there. Dungeon Seeker was more popular at the time, so when the Arifureta creator sued for copyright infringement, the DS creator tried to sic his fans on them among other underhanded tactics. Thankfully, the DS creator lost and all revenue from DS goes to the Arifureta creator, but it still damages the work in question. It goes from being "one of the few properly paced isekai" to "they rushed an ending because they got caught". Story: It's not nearly as good as Berserk/Revival Man, but at least it never goes as low as Shield Hero. I enjoyed the brisk pace throughout instead of the usual slog through dime a dozen fantasy worlds. Everything tied together nicely, even if it was a bit overdone at times. Characters: You'll probably end up hating almost everyone, but I suppose that is the point. At least the main character has a proper reason to be cynical this time, and never ends up buying child slaves. Conclusion: You'll enjoy it if you enjoy trashy isekai, as it's slightly better than your average one. |
Dungeon Seeker review
This has got to be for me, the most disappointing manga I have ever, which is surprising because both after and before it i had read so much manga, and i have even read trashy generic manhwas that just repeat the same thing over and over, and I think I actually enjoyed them more than I did this.
The start was good, I really liked it, it was the whole evil god sending them to a different world for entertainment, which to me was pretty nice, but right afterwards it just killed it. It starts of with a literal time skip. We genuinely don't know anything about anything and yet we already got a time skip , with nothing at all interesting happening at all throughout that time skip? The characters at the start were pretty nice and I really like the desperation of the Main Character to survive and the whole dungeon is relatively nicely mapped out, the levels are cool, but that is where the good ends. Without mentioning what happens inside of the dungeon, I will just say that all the intensity, seriousness and feeling just evaporates into thin air. The entire story and plot from after he enters the dungeon just feels so rushed as if it is a speedrun. New characters appear and disappear pretty much in the same chapter and of my main reasons for wanting to continue this manga just vanished. Afterwards a random timeskip, then the final battle, which was disappointing and I felt no emotion whatsoever. Right after the battle there is ANOTHER timeskip, and it ends. That's it. I have never been as disappointed in a manga as I have here. It is actually wild how it started good, then it began a speed run and finished as if in less than 3 chapters. The story felt good at the start, had multiple forces pulling it forward but by the end all those were gone, killed off as if they were extras. |
Dungeon Seeker review
Trope-loaded isekai revenge manga done very well. It doesn't really have any shocking deviations from the standard, but it doesn't have anything annoying about it either.
There is no annoying forgiveness of a girl because she's hot, no annoying harem, no giving up on revenge due to being a wimp, no protagonist running around raping people and buying slaves because nobody can stand him, none of that bullshit. It's just good, solid, revenge. Characters are consistent, and while it doesn't go super-deep, they all work. Story also works. Art is quite good. This is all the good things in isekai without the typical things that ruin a series, so it's quite enjoyable. The ending was fine. I'm not sure why people have so many complaints about it. It was mildly rushed, but it finished everything that had to happen. It changed something appalling in the novel and made it good. Someone wrote a spoiler in the comments that made me almost drop it, but it turned out the spoiler was from the novel and said event doesn't happen in the manga. Overall, if you're looking for a good isekai, this is it. |
Dungeon Seeker review
Overall: 9 The story is fine. The plot being a fantasy RPG where main character and people in his world get transferred to another world isn't the most unique but I don't find it repetitive at all. The art isn't outstanding but it fits the dark texture that surrounds the plot. Character is great and takes a nice 360, hopefully the development goes well. Really enjoying this manga, I read a few fantasy RPG mangas and this one updates slow but still delivers a nice punch. The RPG world doesn't really have any explanation to it so far which can be annoying but if you
can tolerate it you'll enjoy the RPG the main character goes through.

Story : 3
- Mediocre at best. The "dramas" feels extremely forced, and used mainly to advance the plot, which is super cliche and stupid at this point so far. It is your typical average teenage boy getting transferred into another fantasy world. Well while it is true that this isn't a harem series in which the character is overly OP and just an overall trash harem/waifubait of a mess, the premise of this manga isn't unique or refreshing, and have been done better before (Tate no Yuusha Nariagari). While I do have a soft spot for series that take a darker approach on these kind of premises, this manga is a complete mess of a writing. It just showed how immature and incompetent the writer is. I would have given it a 3 or 4, but since it is fairly new, I will give it another chance Characters: 2 - Oh god where do I even begin... The MC is a typical teenage boy who wishes to have a peaceful life and that's his only damn defining trait( Yeah because we totally never got this type of character before). I'm not against his personality or something but it's extremely dreadful to the point of being dreadful. What's worse is that he is extremely naive, and is an absolute imbecile. I found myself getting angry and frustrated at him instead of the villains. He is the type of guy that would make you want to yell "Use your f***king head for god's sake". - The Villains have no defining traits except being scummy. Completely and dreadfully shallow and one-dimensional. They have no purposes or motivations, and are there to just move the plot along. I would even call it insulting to my intelligence. - As for the so-called "God", maybe it's just me but his character designs really piss me off for some reason. Oh , did I mention that the character designs are completely cliche and stereotypical too ? The character designs are completely cliche and stereotypical. Enough of that. God literally just appears out of no-where , uncalled for , and just start dumping expositions after teleporting(?) the characters to somewhere(?). They never really explain what is going on or maybe I just didn't pay enough attention because I was so bored muscling through this garbage. The part where that guy started charging in at God and got killed was just so freaking comically horrible that it was ironically funny. Not that I'm laughing at the funniness of that scene, I'm just laughing at how much of an incompetent hack the writer is. After that guy was slaughtered, everyone was kind of freaked out , in a very awkward and bizarre way. Just made the whole scene seemed like a comic relief instead of a serious moment that should have define and establish the tone of the series. Art: 3 - Some may call it "stylizing" or "unique" but to me, the art is just complete trash. No details whatsoever, the character designs are cliche and stereotypical, and many more. I could talk more but it's just trash. Enjoyment: 2 - A complete mess that I dreadfully pulled myself through, even though I only read 2 chapters, the manga is so bad that I just couldnt bear it. I was just thinking and hoping that the series would get progressively better, and It was the only motivation that kept me going through this pile of garbage. The pacing is a clusterfuck too. Overall : - So far, it's trash , and it seems like it will stay that way. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this sack of trash whatsoever. Unless you want your intelligence to be insulted through generic and shallow characters, stupid and cliche plots, and abysmal artstyle. |
Dungeon Seeker review
This is a ctrl+c/ctrl+v from what i commented on MD with a few edits. The review is further down.
Interesting manga with a shit ending. 6.5/10 (honestly maybe a 6 is already too much, but i enjoyed it besides the final chapter) The story wasn't developed enough, they rushed everything after a certain part (more than it already was lol) and the character.. Well, he was an interesting character but wasn't developed enough as well. All i can see is a bunch of potential going to waste here. Maybe this can be described as a shorter, worse version, of "Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou" ? Both have the same problems but arifureta is a little more developed, has a better character and a more interesting story (imo), this is judging by the current manga ch. btw, i didn't read the novel. Anyway, Dungeon Seeker ended like a shit movie that was not supposed to get a sequel, i'm quite disappointed. ---Now to the actual review--- You can read the synopsis, so i'll skip that. The manga goes from 0 to a 100 in a matter of a few chapters, and then it falls under a boring part, returns to a interesting part of the story to end with a completely shit conclusion. If you want a quick read, go for it, otherwise don't bother. What you can actually expect from it is the regular isekai thing, with a darker world and a mc that is ok with killing people. Like i said, you can compare it with Arifureta. Personally i read this thing within a few days while i was in the bus lol |
Dungeon Seeker review
Best I can explain why there are low scores on this masterpiece is that it just ain't for everyone.
Story: 9 - Isekai, yada yada... Starting point is final boss... blah blah blah, Main character wins by a stroke of luck, and so on~ though that's as far as it goes for the unproductive plotline, the story seems chaotic, there is no end goal as most isekai stories evidently display, the dungeon being a place uninviting to the insentient and a death trap even to the luckiest of the bunch, makes way for the writer to take any route he wants after the vengeance arc is over. Art: 8 - Just my opinion, don't care about yours. The manga/manhua/manhwa doesn't need to have fills, rich background or complex details in every panel to be great, so long as the characters visibly display emotion, the surroundings of importance are discernible and the level of detail isn't completely botched as an uncolored webtoon. Character: 7 - Most characters are poorly written, little leading motive, but it's just about counteracted with the development of the protagonist, which gradually recovered from his hatred only to have it fueled with extra topping just moments after his life was finally looking up for the first time. He has grown onto me, I thoroughly adore someone who could bear to lose himself in order to win whatever he has set his mind to. Enjoyment & Overall: 10 - You're literally observing a teenager as he ventures into layers of hell as though every following level is made to torture him in a different area of his being, he is a ticking timebomb and we await to see this stem of hatred bloom into a beautiful flower of madness! |
Dungeon Seeker review
Story - 7 - Very cliche but I'm enjoying the new dark spin they're putting on it I'm sick of happy go lucky super OP harem fest other-world manga. It definitely seems like their might be an OP mc but it might be a little ways off. So far I love it. I hope there won't be a harem though it'd be out of place in this manga but it considering how many otherworld manga there are it might need fan-service to stay afloat.
Art - 8 - Basic art but the art makes the monsters look nice so far. It's pretty good if you aren't picky like some. Overall, it's not bad Enjoyment - 9 - I'm biased as fuck and love otherworld manga. A fair rating would be 8. Character -9 - So far, the character's personality is badass. Overall - 10 -So far im enjoying it. I have high hopes. I love t so far. It will be interesting to see this become animated. |
