Ore no Pet wa Seijo-sama

My Pet Is A Holy Maiden Is a Story that I thought looked fairly interesting. At first, I was being very cautious cause I've seen stories that sounds like this and they all turned out to be a disappointment. My Pet Is A Holy Maiden Is no different sadly.

Now keep this In mind that I read this when My internet Was down for 4 days and I had nothing else to do but read this. So My opinion should actually be more favorable towards something that will give me something to do. I think you will see that My opinion Is not that favorable.
Straight from the start, The story just Isn't all that enjoyable. We are told the MC's family has all died and the story really makes sure you understand that they are DEAD. I feel that the story could've easily just had maybe the father died? Maybe If the story Is really insistent that the MC's life has to be utter shit, Then Maybe the Mother as well. I don't see the little sister needing to be dead or even exist.

Me personally, I feel the story would've been better with a girl MC instead of this guy. Have the little sister be the MC Instead. I think It would've been all the more interesting to see this girl with the only family member around being his older brothers Pet bird. I'm not even saying the story needs Yuri In It with a romance between Chiko( The Bird ) And the Little sister. Obviously, Me being a man of culture, I will obviously prefer Yuri But I realize that's asking a lot.

But If the story Is really wanting to do an emotional story, Then imagine how much more interesting It'd be If the story was about Chicko and the Little sister living together while they each deal with the death of the family. Have the Little Sister be the red hearing of the family where no one really pays attention to her and instead focuses on her more successful Brother. So have the sister be really bitter and angry a lot. Then the family dies and she takes care of the bird tell Its death. When the Bird Is a human then have both of them deal with the bad blood between the both of them. Honestly, I feel kind of bummed cause we aren't gonna be getting this.

Now I actually made notes on my way through the entire story about the things I dislike.

The MC is shown to be really depressed, He dropped out of school ( Something I didn't like) Shown that his Dad's Aunt Is now taking care of him and that she Isn't that interested In doing so. Shown that Nothing good Is going on In his life and Is made even worse when his pet bird dies. It was to the Point where the MC was actually putting a Knife to his wrist to try and kill himself cause of how shitty his life Is. Then the MC Is brought Into another world and before anything Is even said. His depression Is completely gone and they never really seem to make mention to It besides It coming up once In every 4 chapters.

Originally I was expecting something else and was kind of bummed at what we got. I originally thought the story would have some Holy Maiden ( I'd imagine she was a very sarcastic Teenager and after when she returns to her Human form she was turned Into a Holy Maiden and Is forced to carry out those duties ) be cursed by something and she was turned Into a small bird and sent to another world. She ended up being taken In by some boy and ended up becoming a Pet Bird even though It was against he wishes ( I was really hoping that throughout the story she'd be unhappy that she was taken by some dude and treated as a Pet) Then when the body of the Bird reaches the end of Its lifespan. She returns to being a Human and the story starts from there. I think this sounds more interesting and entertaining then what we got.

( Side Note) I feel that If the story did what I said In my last Point that It would've been interesting to instead see the story of some Sarcastic and loner Teenage be turned Into a bird and we get to see her as she reacts to everything. I'd imagine She'd be grouchy throughout the story.

The MC doesn't even tell Chiko to not call him " Master" At least tell the point I dropped It at chapter 19. just about every story I've come across would have the MC ask her to call him by his name and not something that seems weird and something a Slave would be forced to call someone.

The world building In this kind of sucks. It just isn't interesting to me In the slightest and found myself being bored a lot. The weirdest part about the World Is that the Church Is actually a caring and peaceful organization. Like this Is Blasphemy! I don't know one Isekai story that doesn't have Religion be evil!

Something else I found to be a disappointment Is that I was wanting the girl's Personality to be more rough and cold then this always happy and always willing to do whatever her " Master" Tells her to do. I mean she did live an entire Human live and Is even older than the MC

The same exact day he Is brought Into this new world. He has already accepted the really absurd claim that the Women In front of him Is his Pet Bird that died a couple days ago. Like he doesn't show any hesitation at all and Is just like " What? Your the pet bird that I've loved since the start??? Ok" Like I'd be kind of pissy If someone tells me they are actually my just recently dead family member.

The MC ( In case you haven't noticed It. I don't use his name because I can't be bothered to learn It) Can be very demanding. A perfect example Is when both him and Chiko were going out and searching for a house. He was saying things like " No, Not this one. It's too big" Or " I don't like the Neighbors" He doesn't really seem to understand that he Isn't buying this house and Is actually being paid for by his former Pet bird by not just money but also her Social Status. He doesn't take In the fact that It Is much safer to live In a Noble mansion then It Is to live in the middle of the city where all the criminals have access too. He also seems to forget that most people live In rundown shacks In this world and don't get the luxury to chose where to live. Especially someone that Just appeared In the city and has no money or social background.

The MC Is just not good. I had someone tell me when I was hesitant to read this that He actually Is likable. I don't see how. He and I'm not even kidding. He Is the perfect example of the Japanese trope where " Boy with a shitty life Is brought to a fantasy world where he get's the women and powers!" Sure at first he doesn't' have powers and I thought This was actually a nice surprise. But nope! Cause he slowly starts getting these powers and he Is some special type that rarely exists. Also, He has an awful personality.

The dumb dram that I was calling the moment I heard about how Popular Chiko Is. I'm talking about everybody getting jealous that this random dude Is now the fiance of Chiko, The worlds most popular girl. Someone will say that he Is just a Commoner or an X. All this happens and Is painful for me to read through.

The story can at times have trouble telling us who Is in a conversation. Sometime the story will just suddenly jump to a new set of people when we were just listening to both X & X talk.

The story has these weird moments where It get's really sexually weird for this type of story. We get some moment where the MC Is going Into really deep detail about Chiko's breast or how he keeps looking at Chiko's Butt or Thighs. Then the Last chapter I read before I dropped this ( 19 ) Has some dude rip off Chiko's clothes and show her breast. It's like the author Is trying to make this cute and lovely world with these two characters. But his sexual desires just keep creeping up and making Its way into the story.

The MC can be annoying. Example being a battle happening. The MC has no combat powers or Magic ( That he can use at the time) Yet he rushes off into a battlefield and tells Chiko " let's leave!" Even though Chiko Is one of the most powerful Priestess In the world and Is one of the only people that can stop this possession of her friend. Yet, It takes both Chiko and some dude I'm too lazy to explain to tell him to leave cause He will just be more of a burden.

Chapter 19 Is where I dropped this cause I don't see the story turning this around. I feel It could've been better but just wasn't.
