Amazing, simply amazing. No real spoilers in this review. Also, please pardon any grammatical errors, English is not my native language.

After I finished chapter 90, I started with the novel because I couldn't wait for the next chapter. I will talk about the Manga but I will mention a few things about the novel.

The story is very typical, nothing outstanding about the theme. What does make a difference, without a doubt, is the way the story is told. The manga does a good job at portraying the novel but, of course, it cannot emphasize all the aspects and depth of the novel. The story gets surprisingly interesting after the character gets a "job". It is something I completely did not expect but after finishing the following chapter I could not be happier.
The characters feel very real, they make decisions like a real person would; not the typical cliched Japanese characters. Hence, the Korean origin of this piece of art. When I read it and got into the story, I eagerly waited for the decisions the MC would take. Several of them are surprising. Some of them I agreed with, other I did not but I was able to understand his point of view.
(Novel) The main character goes through a fantastical metamorphosis throughout the story but at the same time he remains stagnant. He keeps his more inner values and morals intact although knowing that he has to make the hard choices when it really matters.
The art is fabulous. It really matches the quality of the story. Nothing else to say about that.

Please read the novel of this story, it will not disappoint.

With nothing else to add, I can honestly say that it is one of the best stories I have read in quite a while.

First of all the length of this manga is misleading. I would say the length of an average manga volume is about 200 pages. Akira's manga volumes are around 400 pages so don't think you'll be able to rush through this thing. It will take time.

STORY: 8/10
The main plot is focused on stopping the newly escaped, child-psychic, named "Akira" from destroying Japan and the rest of the world. For the most part we follow a motor cycle gang member named Kaneda who somehow gets sucked into this government psychic conspiracy. Kaneda doesn't really care so much about Akira as he does about his bff Tetsuo who recently transformed into a Psychic and started acting all dickish. So Kaneda teams up with the female lead, Kei, in hopes to kill Tetsuo (the super powerfull psychic) with his bare hands. Meanwhile Tetsuo creates an ally out of Akira and they half-way team up because they're supposedly on the same psychic "frequency".

The story is not your linear adventure tale, but I wouldn't call it anything really special. You have your best-friend-turned-enemy and save the world plot all in the very first volume. At times this is executed brilliantly and will leave you either cheering for Kaneda to get revenge or for Tetsou to destroy more crap with his awesomely entertaining powers. Then we get to volume 3, which is hellish at best. It reminded me of a Scooby-Doo Chase scene where everyone just keeps running in and out of doors accomplishing nothing. It's a huge weak point in the mostly spotless story line. Considering that volume 3 is 1/6 of this entire manga I can't rate story any higher.

ART: 8/10
This is an 80s manga and you'll be able to tell at first glance. The characters have that 80s look to them and don't particularly stand out art-wise. Although I'm not complaining since the backgrounds more then make up for what the character designs lack. There are absolutely stunning two page layouts all throughout Akira. The background art work delivers on a level that isn't seen in most manga today. Now back to the character designs for a second. I had a hard time distinguishing Kaneda from Kei since they have nearly identical hair-cuts and facial structures. That definitely brings the overall art score down a bit.

CHARACTER: 8/10
I like the damsel in distress character just as much as the next guy, but its refreshing to see a female lead who isn't a whiny little pussy. Kei is both mentally and physically as strong, if not stronger, then any other character in the manga. Kudos to the mangaka for trying something different. Then you have Kaneda who is the typical hot-headed hero. I was trying to make a few comparisons throughout the manga between him and Naruto without much success until he started walking out of a room then stopped. He turned around and gave Kei a big smile and a thumbs up. Then uttered these exact words: "Believe it!". If that doesn't explain Kaneda's character then I don't know what will.

ENJOYMENT: 6/10
I rate enjoyment rather low because there were a lot of dead spots in the manga where I just wanted the meaningless side stories to end so I could focus on the main plot. This manga could have easily shed a couple 100 pages and not lost a thing. Also the psychic powers were a bit inconsistent which had me confused for a good while. For example Tetsou is shown to have the ability to teleport, explode things with his mind, fly through space, deflect bullets, and just overall do anything he wants with his powers. Then in one part, while at full strength, he starts getting beaten up by Kaneda who has no powers what-so-ever. He just gets his ass kicked for some unexplained reason. At first they say he's powered down, but then literally 1 second after he gets punched in the face he teleports into space and destroys an air craft carrier. I was left scratching my head wondering what the hell just happened. There were too many power inconsistencies and boring side plots for me to enjoy this manga any more then I did.

OVERALL: 7/10
There were times when I couldn't wait to turn the page to find out what happens next, but there were also times when I just wanted to skip 20 pages ahead so I could read something half-way interesting for a change. It also didn't help that the ending was well...open ended. Lots of questions went unanswered and the fate of a few important characters is never touched on. There was also a bit at the beginning where Kei's partner is described as her "sort-of brother", but there relationship goes unexplained for the rest of the series. There are a lot of little problems in Akira that build up throughout the manga. I set the standards high for this one considering its rank on MAL. It also didn't help that at the end of each volume there was a blurb about how much of a masterpiece Akira is. So is this a masterpiece? Maybe it was in the 80s, but to todays standards its nothing more than a slightly above average story manga with a lot of hype.

Here's my take after reading the initial chapter of the raw Grashros by Muneyuki Kaneshiro (Story) and Akeji Fujimura, (Art).

At the moment that I saw the cover page of this manga it caught my attention, it is resonating a feel of Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond but with a primal feel being set during the period of cro-magnons 30,000 years ago.

The story mainly focuses on the birth of the child that will go against destiny: Akuu. It may sound cliche but it is totally works for me

Immediately, the story brings us to it's primitive universe where everything is stripped to its bare basics. Everything is well drawn and the art does not separate from the narrative of the story and it feels cohesive.

The characters are easy to identify and differentiate from each other which is a great thing since it shows us a that each of the characters are well thought and researched for this story.

It was after reading the initial chapter of this story that I realized that it was created by a combo mangaka. I love combos!

With that being said I will give Grashros initial chapter 9 volga horns out 10.

to stumbled upon this manga means to jump up to the most bizarre and irrational history about the world, and their beautiful relationship with mongolian horses, that indeed is not actual horses.

Story:7/10
i found the story to be very unique depiction of our actual history, with the addition of these strangeness that occured. the more we dwell into the abnormalities of the mongolian horses, the more we discovered the true form of their uses. the story greatly emphasize these development.

if you’re not enjoying these bizarre story in the first place, you’ll better stop continuing, because it only gets better, or worse.

Art:10/10
what we can appreciate in this manga is the beautiful art that is Shintaro Kago masterpiece. his realistic artstyle, not just this, but also almost all of his works are beautiful, it’s very appealing for people who loves realistic art, but sadly the story is not realistic as the artsyle.

Character:7/10
what is a bizarre story without a bizarre character. we will witness the great character that influence our world, with a twist of their genius minds. we will witness Vasco de Gama that use vomit to communicate. we witness James Watt with his glorious defective skills and his masochistic girlfriend. Henry Ford and his love for copulating with a conveyor belt. and all of those irrational characters that is not enough to be put in here.

Enjoyment:8/10
despite being weirded and disgusted by it, the creativity is limitless in here, there so much thing that left with a lot of question, there so much to be discovered in here. i thoroughly enjoyed every single chapter, wondering what can these mongolian horses do to entertain me until the end.

i can say to myself i will greatly enjoyed this if this was longer, it left us with a big question mark in our head.

Overall:7/10
if only the story can reach to it’s conclusion, i would give it a better score. the abrupt ending really didnt justified the great artstyle and bizarre story. i wanna know more about monglian horses!, i want to witness the great ancient discovery that already influence the whole world, the God, the Giant, the Ultra Power Mongol Invasion!

Hana to Shinobi. Or A springtime with Ninjas. This story started off good. It was engaging. AT FIRST. It really engaged me, until the relationship between Benio and Tamaki.

Story (6/10): Not the most creative but was okay. It was good until Volume 3. When they begin their relationship and nobody approves of it. It adds some crappy and pointless action. ALL THE ANTAGONISTS ARE WAY TOO CLICHE AND STUPID.

Art (10/10): The art is OUTSTANDING. that’s all. It’s really amazing.

Characters (6/10): the characters are way too cliche. Benio the annoying MC who wants to learn about the outside world because she can’t leave. And then there’s the childhood friend Tamaki who wants to protect her while keeping his old relationship with her a secret. The adults who respect tradition but won’t let Tamaki and Benio have a relationship. Those who target Benio so they can kiss her and marry her. STUPID AND CLICHE

Enjoyment (6/10): As I said before, THE PLOT AND CHARACTERS ARE WAY TOO CLICHE AND ANNOYING. I will admit it was good before the “plot” began.

Overall (6/10): I wouldn’t recommend this to others. But if you want a cliche plot that was good at first then becomes shit because they want to continue Tamaki and Benio’s relationship which creates “plot”. The “plot” is shit but u still want read it, then look no further.

First of all, the arts are very amazing! The eyes are pretty, the lips so gorgeous. Everything is so perfect!

The story is about a girl name Fujiwara who likes to act like a boy. She's handsome and even the girls like her! She have the power to control water. Water is her friend.
Each chapter have different story but a little bit related. Although, it's kinda difficult to understand.
But, you can enjoy it by just watching the art. Ehm! Many sexy girls and boy in here. You'll be tempted...
This manga is suitable for romance, shounen ai and shoujo ai fans. It have so many genres actually. But shounen ai maybe just a few. Shoujo ai and romance, lots....

I was suprised that this hasn't a review, :3 Anyways I;ll get straight to the point.
Story: The plot was like too fantasy-like and requires more enigma,but it's quite unique and you kinda get confused at first. The story should be more developed.

Art: The artistic flare is very good, I highly appreciate it.

Character: Characterization needs more depth, specially with the heroine.

Enjoyment : I personally enjoyed the manga, it has good humor.

Overall i would give 8/10 for this manga, it's worth the read.

Since this is my first review on this website it may not be the best review but i'm still going to try...
This story had a good premise to it and was interesting to read the 9 chapters this manga had, if this manga were to keep going I would believe it could very well be amazing. It had a lot of promise to it, judging from the nine chapters it had I would say I was very intrigued in what was going on. Sadly there is not much to say about this manga since we do not get that much content from it.
I liked the whole idea of the "killing bites" thing this story had going on and they could have done alot more with it if we had more content. I very much well liked the art in this manga especially in the fight panels, they were amazing.
Chapter one of the manga clearly introduced to you what this manga was going to be like if you didn't like chapter one then this manga isn't for you because that's pretty much the idea of the story.
Would I recommend this anime to you ? Yes I would, while making this review there are only nine chapters out so it would be easy to read in half an hour. I'm not aware if they'll ever make more chapters or not but I do know this is one of those manga you see and say "This had so much potential". That's all I feel when I read or think about this manga so that's why my overall rating is a 7/10.

Well hello there, I think this is my first review for manga and i am writing this because this manga is not popular although its art is good and the story is cute. The story is pretty much what the synopsis says nothing extraordinary but that doesn't mean its bad. If you like Romance than you can definitely try this your sugar level might increase..
I dont know why its rating is low because i think theres nothing wrong with this cute plot manga, unless you have diabetes.. Honestly i want to see an anime of it even if its 5min. episode each. Because there are many people who like these kind of plot, they are just not aware of this manga. I am writing this so that it might make some difference although i know i am writing this for my satisfaction lol. Anyways if you are reading this give this manga a try its not disappointing except for the fact that update comes very late... Have fun increasing your sugar level..

A pretty typical shoujo/smut manga. But there actually ends up being a pretty deep stroyline - interesting character relationships, motivations, plot... Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of romantic drama for no reason at all, but it's still incredibly fun to read.

The art is very well done, nothing extraordinary, but very nice to look at. One thing that does deserve special mention, though, are the eyes - this manga has the prettiest-drawn eyes I have ever seen. Really gorgeous and really share a lot of emotion.

Overall, read this manga if you like shoujo/smut, it'll be perfect for you. It'll even have plotlines and interesting character developments that take you by surprise, so it's a lot a fun!
