Have never seen or read Jojo's but have heard its fantastic and all that. And I saw one of the parts was number 2 best manga on here below BERSERK! So i thought alright I'll read it because each part should stand on its own right?
Well it definitely did. Araki is a very good writer, the way it introduced Gyro and Johnny was very stylishly done and I like that the main character Johnny isn't the most morally good guy, he is a bit of a jerk and has a selfish reason for wanting to be in the race while his new mentor Gyro who is a trained executioner is far nobler as he wants to save a young boy from being executed. And they develop and go through some of the best friendship and relationship writing I have seen in any media (coming pretty close to stuff like Gon and Killua or Ed and Al). I won't spoil much more about them but let me tell ya these two are fantastic for main characters, they have interesting motives, have fun personalities and their growing bond is such a thrill to read through.
The villain is of course the american president who is named Funny Valentine? Sounds very silly but it just rolls with it and he actually has a very noble and understandable motive. He wants to collect all of Jesus body parts (stay with me) to gain ultimate power so no misfortune will ever come to America and it will become a dominant country and very safe. It makes sense considering the job of a president is to protect their country no matter what and for a villain he is quite noble and altruistic (as you'll see very later on in this manga) and his backstory helps a lot and he has one of the best speeches I have ever heard the pleasure of seeing. The napkin speech.
The art is well...fantastic! Not much of an art expert but it's very nice to look at, the horses anatomy is really well done and it's so dynamic and creative most of the time especially during the insane stand fights.
What's a stand you say? That is basically the power system of this series. Like Hunter x Hunter has Nen and Fullmetal Alchemist has Alchemy, Jojo's has Stands. Basically your spirit energy manifesting into whatever the hell Araki wants, each person has got a unique looking stand and abilities and you get it from being near Jesus' corpse (sounds very weird I know but you get used to it). And for some reason their stands are always named after either bands or songs (one of them's called Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, you know the AC/DC song). To name some stands and their abilities I'll name Blackmore and his stand: Catch the Rainbow! It's ability is to control and manipulate raindrops and to be able to walk on them. And another one like Scary Monsters that can turn people into dinosaurs and make them henchmen of yours or Mandom which can rewind 6 seconds back into the past so you can try again to kill an enemy, all stands have fun abilities that of course lead to some very bizarre and creative fights. Unlike most shonen where power is the only thing that matters, in Jojo's you only win if you outsmart or use your abilities or theirs to your advantage (like one stand called Cream Starter is literally a spray that sprays skin that can suffocate or heal you, the creativity man!). Also the main characters Gyro and Johnny don't actually use stands that much (well Johnny later gains one pretty early that he later uses a lot) and practice the art of steel balls that can use stuff like friction, rotations, aerodynamics and life energy to use and Gyro basically teaches Johnny the ropes on how to use this art and it's quite interesting to see them use it and seeing Johnny improve with it. Also one of my favorites was the True Man's World fight where Gyro battled the guy who could rewind back 6 seconds and had to think of ways around that and to use that to his advantage even sacrificing himself and all that jazz in duel fights, very good stuff and the final two fights are absolutely insane but I won't spoil. And fights like Civil War help us delve into the characters psyche more so we can learn more about them and to see them develop.
The designs are very weird and bizarre (check for instance Mrs Robinson or Gyro's) but don't come off to annoying or off putting, they fit the world that Araki has created which at first seems impossible considering you see a pretty dark wild west but it grows on you.
Araki uses the genre of western very well. The story is actually centered around a race across America on horseback to win lots of money and that's how Gyro and Johnny meet and the race goes on for the whole manga until the very end but throughout the manga stuff happens and the race kinda subsides into the background to focus on Johnny and Gyro going up against Funny Valentine over Jesus' body. Don't worry it sounds insane but it flows naturally and doesn't feel forced.
Alright after explaining why I love this manga to death I guess it's only fair if I list my problems with it: Araki introduces some really interesting side characters that are awesome to like Hot Pants and Diego and Wekapipo and Sandman but most of them don't get used too much and are pretty discarded pretty quickly (it isn't the case for all of them don't worry but only some) especially poor Sandman who seemed he was going to play a big part but was screwed. And characters like Poco Loco don't get enough screen time to care about them at all and leave you a bit disappointed. And another one is although most of the time stand fights are great Araki sometime has an issue of too much going on where it's really hard to tell what's actually going and some fights leave a lot too be desired like Tomb of the Boom which was dreadful involving a man who can turn himself into a rope? And the first twenty or so chapters while having some high points are also quite slow and drag but it picks up a lot I say around the Scary Monsters fight (so when you see Diego lying down bloodied that's the sign).
But that's it, 95 long chapters and I only really have less than a handful of cons and this is the only Jojo part I have seen! Which is great that this part stands on its own and satisfies a non Jojo fan and a new audience and you don't need to read any other part.
I can see now why it's rated so high up (I love Berserk and FMA to death so seeing it between them was very interesting), Araki you are fantastic and it was such a fun thrill ride this manga.
Great power system, fights, characters, villain, art was great, Johnny and Gyro have the best friendship dynamic ever etc. I am definitely checking out the rest of Jojo's now after reading Steel Ball Run (apparently this is the seventh part and there is a new eighth part out now so I got a lot of catching up to do!)
I highly highly recommend. Please read this manga I implore you. You don't even have had to have seen any of the other Jojo parts to love this manga as I am proof. It stands on its own and it is great.
So that's why I give it a 9/10 (almost perfect)

One thing that i dont like about manhwa is the thing that manhwa stories arent so deep, while the manga (japanese) usually bring to us a more deep story and more feelings. In the manga, you can see specific different behaviour, type of person and all the story, usually, is really hard to accomplish for the characters. For example in naruto, the sharingan is a great tool, but has its limits. Goku can become ultra instinct, but at a great cost. As u you can see, a great power demands a great cost. So the characters needs to struggle to overcome all this things.

Instead in manhwa all this things doesnt happens a lot, and everything goes quite as normal, as you can see in solo leveling and in other manhwa. But, for this one, the story is really good, and can play along with the OP characters and make it everything interesting, as well like onepunchman.

I really enjoyed the story that goes deep and deep and intriguing. 100% suggested, i hope the season 2 will be greater ;)

I actually wanted to try reading or watching Corpse Party but I never had the time so I haven’t yet. Although, I watched a few episodes of the gameplay from PewDiePie and while I was looking around Batoto for something to read, I stumbled upon Corpse Party yesterday. Truth is, there are several Corpse Party manga over there and I don’t know which one is the real one. So I just decided to judge them based on the cover. Then I found Corpse Party: Musume. As you can see in the cover, the girl over there is Naomi, part of the main cast. Although I noticed that she wears a different uniform and has huge boobs (In the game, she already has big boobs but I can’t help but be more surprised in the manga.) After a few chapters until the ending, I realized that this wasn’t the original Corpse Party plot. I was really hyped up about the ending and was saying “Nooo! You can’t end it like that. I need more!”. Really, it was a neat ending but I don’t think it is the best ending you could’ve given the readers. More on this later.

PLOT – 5/10

Okay, I gave the plot 5/10 because it isn’t perfect. It’s not that there’s something as perfect, but I think there are lots of plot holes. Mainly because the events in the manga happen so quickly that you won’t get to enjoy the plot too much. If you’re looking for a manga which is more focused on giving a really dark horror story, I won’t recommend this. Yes I do admit they managed to really think of dark elements in the story but they are just small mini-stories which when you put them all together, it won’t make a great plot. Although, I’ll give credits to the real ending for making it more twisted than I expected. The real ending feels like an epilogue somehow but since it has a few chapters, I was a bit mindblown like “They’ve done it, what else could these few chapters contain? An epilogue?” then later on, I realized I shouldn’t have finished it since the ending, as I’ve said earlier, “You can’t end it like that.”. Try to guess if it was a good or bad end, but for sure you’ll get it right based on my reactions here.

ART – 9.5/10

I really really really like the art. It is too detailed at points I didn’t expect it to be. I was expected it to be a bit mild in terms of gore, death, blood, panty-shots, and other scenes. I was expecting the scenes to be like Mirai Nikki, where I felt like everything is too mild for a story like that. But really, after reading this manga, I was totally like “Whoa, they didn’t hold themselves in making the art, huh?”. I was amazed on how they portrayed the scenes but as I expected, I didn’t get scared even as I read the manga all alone in the middle of the night. Yes, I don’t really get scared easily, but I once read a manga which did scare me. Probably because this manga has too many scenes for adults and panty-shots. I know this is tagged as ecchi but it is supposed to be horror, mystery, and supernatural too. You could do a lot better in terms of scaring rather than turning the readers on. I’ll still give credits to it having a few scenes giving me the chills. If you’re looking for something scary, I don’t really recommend this but if you’re looking for something to gross you out and turn you on, this is it.

CAST – 8/10

I gave it an 8 out of 10 since I appreciate them giving Naomi a lot of screen time or whatever you call it. If you’re guessing that she’s my favorite character, you’re exactly right. Also, I like the surrounding dark elements in the character stories and personalities. You see, I’m a fan of dark themes/plots and I especially like it when my favorite character has a dark past, a change of heart, broken mind, or whatever. Although the cast here is kinda small, I liked it since they managed get a good background story and plot twists with regards to the characters while managing not to make them Out-of-character. I like how they acted and all. I mean, they did stuff that I totally wasn’t expecting and I really like the surprises.

ENJOYMENT – 8/10

Okay, okay, I gave this an 8/10 not just because of the ecchi but because, like I said, I’m a fan of dark themes. If I did not enjoy this manga, I wouldn’t finish it in one seating. Seriously, I started reading the manga and I didn’t stop until I finished it. Probably it is because I’m always excited on what will happen next. I really enjoyed on how everything went on until the ending. Like I said, they gave me surprising stuff which I totally didn’t see coming. In the many dark stories I’ve read (mostly fanfics), there are many many stuff which are over used. But this manga, they managed to actually make me “What happened? I wasn’t expecting that! Oh no, why? How did that-!? I knew it!” and when I say things like that in my mind while watching or reading something, it means I really like the story. I was actually wishing for more but, I don’t think there will be more.

Overall, its a nice alternate story for Corpse Party but it could do a lot more. It actually has potential which I’m sure will be great if they gave it more time and more thought. For everyone and everything there is a first. A first house a first love but also a first manga. For I Wadatsumi was that first manga. And by how somebody got to read an obscure manga like this as his first rather than one of the big Shounen ones is a valid question about me, this review is about the manga.

Wadatsumi is the titular character and is a young boy who lives with a group of older men on an island. The world around them seems to have been flooded leaving only sunken buildings and metal coated fish behind. As they scrape to survive, Wadatsumi find a girl washed up on the shore who hands him an octopus like device. Over the course of the series it is shown that multiple people possess devices like these and have supernatural powers from them. Which the Wadasumi also unlocks after it turned him from a young boy into a full grown woman. Something he seems he notices and then just roles with it as he never turns back. The series concludes with all the squid devices destroyed and the world finally having a glimmer of to return to normal.

Story:
Wadatsumi is a mess. It has the format of a long running manga with only 15 chapters to tell it in and it shows. The ending was forcefully rushed to make everything tie up neatly and cuts over so many characters that would have likely gotten entire battle arcs to deal with. But the end is not where the problems start. From the beginning there are many phasing flaws, for shadowing that just doesn't leave you interested, but more wondering what the hell is happening and a lot of things not explained or rushed over for the sake of saving time. The fact Wadatsumi changes into a woman suddenly are never fully explained out of him activating some inner power of the squid devices. This leaves the world sore fully lacking the entire run.

Art:
Oh boy does this manga have some art. Is it good? Noooooo, it is not. Decent at best and offending at its worst. There is often a lot of unclarity and the fight scenes are just a mess of blurs and wipes. The best artistic moments are sadly the fanservice parts which don't contribute ever. Probably the worst offence in the manga is actually Wadatsumi her female design. which seems to lack any and all intestines while sporting a huge bust and ass and a messy hairstyle with giant eyelashes.

Characters:
The characters are for the most part pretty okay. They are clearly set in the standers Shounen tropes of dimwit meat for brains MC, Kind and always grounded lead female the leader of the enemy organisation is the emotion less "I actually want to help the world" type that you can spot a continent away. But even if they add nothing really new to those tropes they don't break them with weird things or fail to even follow them. They just are what they are and are just okay.

Enjoyment:
I am a story guy. I want a good story to really enjoy a manga. But even so I had quite fun reading this. It will never be the most amazing thing ever. But it is a fun route in a generic setting with a few interesting concept, throwing around that just never got to go anywhere. But it was fun. Wadatsumi is just a fun character to see bounce around and fight for 15 chapters and then call it an end.

Final statement:
It's pretty much a mess. And while I personally had my fun with it. It is doubted many others will. As such I can't recommend reading it unless you are sure you want to see how it makes water burn. So better to try something different.

Spiraling around the idea of occultism and mystery, Missing is an ideal manga for those interested in the supernatural and after a good read.

Withought giving too much away, these manga books follow a rather simple, linear style storyline, building up throughout the series an extremely captivating climax.

Though some of the idea's are complex, the novel has been brilliantly depicted in this manga and should be enjoyed by any reader.

The characters are very well developed, leaving a great impression on the reader. They're likeable, and each has their own role to play, allowing the reader to thoroughly enjoy each persona.

Overall, a brilliant manga worth a read for anyone, and definitely something that will keep you interested for a prolonged period =]

tl;dr: Some interesting concepts but writing that overall, simply isn't up to par.

The most succinct way I can describe this manga is as one where the writing simply isn't good enough for the story it's trying to tell. There are a lot of things that when looked at in hindsight from a broad eyed view seem like good concepts. However, in practice the mangaka couldn't make them work.

The first and most obvious issue is the powers characters have. The characters in this manga have a lot of strange powers as one would expect from a set of powers that stem from wishes themselves, and as in most cases where characters have unique powers, a lot of the manga is these characters using these powers to oppose each other. The thing is that a lot of these powers are ridiculous and the only reason the manga proceeds the way it does is that everyone with powers doesn't use their powers anywhere near effectively, which makes pretty much everything involving powers in this manga seem kind of forced.

The most prominent example of this is Eiji, the protagonist's, power. Having the ability to control not just people, but anything in his territory ranging from physical entities like bullets or the air itself to even the laws of physics with control of things like gravity, is absolutely overpowered. The manga doesn't really try to establish rules that limit it either. With a power like that he should simply be able to power through everything in his way on his own. But that would be really boring, so for the sake of the plot most of the time he simply doesn't. To a certain degree that would be fine, but the thing is that Eiji is generally shown to be an incredibly weak character that can't pull of much of anything on his own. That personality is fine too, as it's a part of his character arc, but to put it simply his powers and his story simple do not fit with each other.

Speaking of character arcs, that would be another issue. Eiji and what felt like the other main characters, Rin, Sena, and Iyo, got decently fleshed out and once everything was wrapped up and over felt like they had decent character arcs. However, this involved a lot of abrupt changes in the direction of character arcs before it seems the author finally picked tracks to settle on with previous developments just being forgotten. So while where things end up is good,  the build up to it felt pretty inconsistent. Furthermore, it felt like the author wasn't very good at conveying the emotions of characters all that well, so there were scenes that I believe were meant to be impactful in that regard that simply weren't. This wasn't always the case as there were some scenes where the author did manage to pull it off, but not as much as were needed.

Still, with the main characters it was possible to get invested in them and even to a degree find them likable. The side characters on the other hand were a mess. There were a lot of them and they were all pretty unique in terms of character designs and personalities, but because it was trying so hard to make everyone seem special no one ended up standing out or being memorable. It also felt like the plot had them popping in and out in order to keep using the same characters for different roles which felt kind of forced at times with how it resulted in them being inconsistent.

The last major issue is the plot itself. The plot is good in terms of the world it builds up, and in the end looking back the core of its plot  it is a pretty good story. What I mean by the core of the plot being good is that it has what I felt like were two really solid twists, one at about the half way point and one near the end, where it reverses pretty strongly what was presented leading up to it. Unfortunately, the buildup to both of these wasn't very good.

With the first twist, it feels like the author did have it planned out since the beginning, but didn't want to go immediately from the beginning directly to it so the plot of the manga in the first half is a bunch of random nonsense that doesn't matter with sprinkles of things that matter in between as actual build up for coming events, ultimately leading up to things finally getting interesting and good when it finally really gets into the matters relating to the aforementioned twist.

With the second half though, it very much feels like the author didn't have the final twist planned out very well if at all. It very much feels like the twist at the end was something that the author came up with when they had almost gotten there, because the only foreshadowing of it is really close to it actually happening, and it's really not subtle at all. Now the twist itself is really good I think, and ties in really well with the first twist. However, it doesn't feel well built up to at all seeing as there weren't any hints at all of it even though it would have been really easy to drop subtle ones that would have better set it up. Rather, it feels kind of inconsistent from what was happening earlier on. Where things go after the twist though was pretty disappointing, in that the ending was incredibly weak and largely unsatisfying.

The art I wouldn't call great, but is solid enough. As a general comparison to the anime, it's nowhere near as confusing, but things making more sense doesn't make it that much better, and the ending of the two is actually really different with the ending to the anime actually being a lot better, so really, it's a wash on which of the two is better overall.

I was in the mood for a josei manga so I started to read it. It was fine and predictable ...until the smut part came OMG!!!! NOBODY TOLD ME THAT!!! Oh man I was reading it at college and BOM! that's why I'm warning you. ^_^ be careful!
If you don't like smut just give up on this one. I must say that I enjoied smut parts because they were integrated very well in the plot and ....The boys are just gorgeous and honestly realistic smut is my favourite kind.
The second story was by far my favourite, a little bit messy at the beggining but It was adorable, It's worth spending your time nevertheless in some parts it gets messy with the characters because they all look alike. Drama and love is what these stories are about.
The third and the fourth are the same story in two parts. Interesting uncle-niece relationship but the main characters are plain and so cliché .
• PROS: Some good stories, nice drama , handsome men and wonderful smut.
•CONS: Typical josei moments, sometimes stupid female main characters and messy art in a few moments.

I've been on this website for years but this is my very first review, so please cope with me. I simply HAD TO write this review - while restlessly waiting for new chapters to be released.
I've never been a huge fan of old manga (expecially shounen-ai or the likes from '80s and early '90s) but this is the greatest exception.
The themes are strong: religion, doubt, acceptance of the different (the distrust between the desert tribes and the townsmen shows it all, also the fear of the dijins), of own-self and of phisical-psycological changes, and then (not less important) rape (which is regarded as "normal" until Kira shows how much he loves Grinja and how passionately he wants ONLY HIM).
The art is simply stunning, detailed, every character is peculiar and interesting with their own physiognomy, goals and passion, the story becomes mesmerizing after two pages or so.
I really want to read the last missing chapters (and if the author made any other works I'll be sure to have a look at them, also. I hold great expectations right now.)
I would reccomment it to everyone, even if you're not a fan of BL genres.

This is a manga about a cute girl doing not-so-cute things cutely. Specifically, it follows Olivia, an orphan adopted by Death (yes, the one with the scythe), taught to be a powerful fighter, and then let lose on the world. Olivia doesn't fully understand human social interactions, but she makes up for it with her childlike wonder and glee at mundane things... and by carrying out her soldier duties with the same childlike wonder and glee, which, while effective, is off-putting to many of her peers.

And... that's about it, for now. The story hints at larger plots in the form of an international war and the rationale for why Death saw fit to let Olivia back into the world of humans, but Olivia herself isn't actively pursuing any particular motive, nor did I connect strongly enough with the other characters to really care about their perspectives. The humor is nice when Olivia's Slice of Life gets mixed up with her Life of Slicing, but if you're looking for more than that, I've had trouble finding it. Perhaps later volumes will change this.

"...don't you dare look back!"

Crazy For you reminded me of Peach Girl, but in this one, there weren't any mean/bad characters that try to hurt each other. No, this one felt more real to me because the one doing the hurting are people you love, your own best friends.

It's easy to engulf yourself in it when all the characters seem human, they mess up and their choices hurt people they love and they repent.

Loving someone for years and then getting together to realize that you have both changed and there is no going back, no matter how much you want to.
It's about growing and realizing that we're all just looking for the same thing.

That's the main thing I learned in Crazy For You. That love doesn't change, people do.

Characters: They all have their faults.
Sachi was strong, to some she might look weak but, she loved unconditionally and she didn't give false hopes, that made her strong to me

Juk, was more complex, he was so closed in that he didn't let anyone near him, emotionally, more back story on him would have been great, to understand him more.

Eij (Akahoshi)i,was my favorite, he was behind the scenes. He wanted her to be happy, even Juki said i, "Akahoshi, will treasure you for sure."

Akemi, she didn't smile at all, barely, you knew she was unhappy. And the reader could tell who she loved, really loved, before she realized it herself.
If someone makes you cry more than they make you laugh....


The Art was nice, it was average to me, don't know what to compare it to.

SO I'll leave you with something Eiji said,

"When you delete all the 'buts' and 'howevers' the original most genuine thought would appear."
