Shingeki no Kyojin review
This new manga is topping the sales charts in Japan and I think for a good reason.

I just started reading it (I am just into the second chapter) and I am already hooked.
First let me spend a few words on the drawings. The backgrounds are quite nice and polished, but the characters, although nice, could be less "noisy".
I think this kind of style is instead very appropriate with the giants (or titans). They are strange, distorted human forms with the skin of their faces revealing all their theeth in a wicked grin. Their body proportions are usually off enough to give them an even more monstrous appearence.
The faces of the characters are nevertheless pretty good at conveing emotions.

The characters' fear in the face of an impossibly stronger predator is well represented. Imagine if you were face to face with a monstrous 15 meters tall man with a wicked grin and the will to eat you...

This plays on our instinctive fears of predators. It's true that today humans are at the top of the food chain, but it hasn't always been like that.
Probably if lions would evolve an intelligence they wouldn't know this kind of fear as they have no natural predators (normally), but for us the fear of being preys, of being helpless in front of a strong predator is something we can understand well.

I don't remember another manga with such a strong emphasis on this aspect and this certainly is a good thing!

The only small complaint could be that the drawings quality is not always the best, but seeing how the series has just started I think the author has plenty of time to improve.

I definitely recommend this series!

Tensei Akujo no Kuro Rekishi review
After reading the 1st volume I really did enjoy it. The villainess Iana is trying her best to not only change people's view of her but also she's trying to avoid her own death flags since EVERYONE in the novel she wrote loves the female lead Konoha who is her older sister. The thing that keeps you wanting to read it is how she's going to avoid these death flags considering her change in personality is changing the story and giving her a bit of unwanted attention from her would-be assassin. The only thing that I don't like about this manga is the female lead of the novel the villainess wrote. She is a very needy character that is ENTIRELY ungrateful for her sister's sacrifices for her. A bit of a spoiler but Iana was injured trying to protect her but when Konoha's fiancee shows up she thanks him and not once did she really thank her sister and on top of that she has no issue showing off her relationship in front of her either. My issue with that is because Iana loves him in her own way considering she wrote him as a character of her ideal man and she wrote the entire novel with the idea of her reincarnating as a female lead. I'm going to keep reading this manga because Iana is my favorite character and the butler too but as of right now Konoha is my least favorite character. I hope that in the 2nd volume she at least acknowledges the fact that Iana is trying to protect her even though she's doing it to avoid triggering her own death flags.

Virgin Extinction Island.

when i first read this manga i didnt know what to expect. The title itself being Virgin extinction island already intrigued me but once ive read it, this manga confused me alot. It's a manga that doesn't know what it wants to be. It first starts off in this high school setting where in 3 high school friends who are all virgins hears about the news of virgins dying once they reached the age of 18.

That start was pretty entertaining. Its funny seeing all these 17 year olds go and beg women for sex just so that they wouldnt die. The sudden shift of drama inside the classroom was pretty interesting as well as the reveal of the fake posers who are still actually virgins.

But just suddenly the pacing just went off with all the government being involved becoming this dark trapped isolated base with all the virgins.

Once that started everything just went off and my interest in it kinda drifted.
Though some of you may like this concept, i think the general audience doesnt rlly want it as most would probably expect a funny ecchi comedy with slightly dark themes like Prison School.

But it wasn't like that, i was very dissapointed and would only read for the slight ecchi scenes.

Story: 3/10
yep just awful

Art: 8/10
The art is pretty good not gonna lie so thats something

Characters: 6/10
Some Characters are decent and some are rlly relatable but some are just rlly meh and are pretty common in other mangas that are probably better.

Enjoyment: 5/10
i did enjoy the first parts and enjoy some substories in it but the main story throws me off too much that it just ruins my enjoyment.

Overall: 5.25/10 (rounded off to 5)
i'd probably continue reading this just to see how some sub stories go but this is something i would not recommend to anyone.

Haru-nee ga Boku ni xx Suru Riyuu review
This manga sets up a pretty interesting cast and premise. The sealed power with a protector bit is a bit cliché, but how they lead that up to beginning a war against the rest of the magic world while going on a world adventure is a pretty cool concept. Unfortunately, that's where it ends, right before getting to what would be the meat of the plot. Similarly with characters, it introduced a pretty interesting cast of characters to go on said adventure, but the manga ended before they could be fleshed out at all. This also applies to the combat, wherein they set up some concepts that could develop into an interesting battle system, but never did. Hence, the entire manga felt like a prologue to a manga that could be quite good, but ended before it truly began. Now, because of this, I'm not satisfied with the ending since it leaves everything open, but at the same time, I still enjoyed it up to the end, which is often not the case with rushed ending mangas as they try to come up with some weird ending that tries to wrap up everything super quickly but almost always falls flat. Here the author just kept writing the manga as normal up to the end, and then it just ended. There's no epic finale or anything, but all in all for this type of manga I think this worked out better than what the alternative could be, and hence while ending unfinished is still an issue, it's not as bad as it could be. The art was incredibly good and the comedy was also solid.

A manga that sets up an interesting plot and characters, but ends before really getting into any of them, though it stays pretty enjoyable up to the abrupt end.
