Nozoki Ana review

Nozomi Ana is the best romance manga I have ever read. I found the OVA on a hentai website. After watching it for a few minutes, I was so interested in the story that I forgot what I had been supposed to do (if you know what I mean :D). When finding out that the anime is actually an adaptation of a manga, I immediately searched for it.
Plot: 10/10
Nozomi Ana’s plot is so addictive that I could not help reading all the chapters in one day. The OVA is equivalent to about the first 25 chapters of the manga and it seems to be an ordinary romance/ecchi/school anime at first. Nevertheless, after reading some chapters, my attitude to it changed dramatically. It is drama, somewhat psychological and even tragic near the end of the story. Throughout the plot, I experienced different emotions: happiness, sadness, bitterness, surprise, anger and sympathy as if I were the male protagonist. Characters’ thoughts and feelings are expressed fully and naturally, especially the Kido’s emotions when he realized his love towards Emiru.
The manga is not only a touching story about love, but it is also about friendship. Loyal friends never abandon us even if we hurt them emotionally. In contrast, the dark nature of a human can turn a person who used to be our friend into an enemy. This aspect makes the manga even more fascinating.
Although ecchi is what attracted me to this manga at first, it somehow ruins the plot to my mind. If there were less ecchi scenes, the manga would be better.
To be frank, romance anime/manga had never been my cup of tea. Even if I read/watched a manga/anime that happens to have romance as one of its genres, I was not really into the romantic part. However, Nozomi Ana changed my mind and became the first romance manga that I was interested in. It made me feel like having someone to love and to be loved.
Character: 9/10
Although Kido is indecisive and insecure, he become more grown-up throughout the story. It is actually his characteristics that make Emiru’s tricks more fun. From my point of view, growing-up protagonists are better than those who are badass and perfect at first.
Emiru is kinda mysterious even till the end of the story. What I love the most is the complexity of her personality. She might seem cold-hearted and disgusting at first, but she shows her caring side when the plot progresses. She even takes the blame to protect her dearest, to make sure that he is happy with his love. If I were a girl, I must have cried for her.
Art: 8/10
It is not too bad. I have no comments about it.
Overall: 9/10
Try reading it because it is a decent manga.
Ps: Sorry for any mistake in the review because I do not come from an English-speaking country. To be honest, this is the first time I write a review about a manga. I finished it two days ago, but its plot still lingers in my mind. Therefore, I write this review hoping to stop obsessing about it.
