Kid can communicate with an old spirit of long gone times who happens do be the best player of a game. The plot reminds one about yugioh. But this series even though very less popular is very much better. We all who enoyed this show should be grateful that shindo didnt tell anyone about sai, otherwise he would be diagnosed with shizophrenia (but maybe that would also make a great manga). I was expecting a lighthearted funny show without much suspense. Because the ghost was already the best player and hikari let him play. But then Hikary gets interested in the game and wants to play for himself. The development he makes that we can watch, his rivalry with a go prodigy and his going through the stages of grief when an important character disappears, its all beautiful and very moving. The latter i had to experience on my own when this series ended, i would have liked it so much to be able to watch shindo even longer on his path.
