Rain review

Rain is a tale of a knight and his princess, as he strives to protect her and the small country that she will be queen of.

And unfortunately, it's boring as hell and painful to read.

Most notably, it reads out like a Mary Sue fic. And as a result, there is no tension in this story. It's a fantasy slice-of-life story without the comedy, and its attempts at drama and plot becomes irrelevant because the presentation is so dull, and the complete lack of realism makes it difficult at best to take it seriously.

What is a real pity is that the plot isn't that bad; it's consistent and has a decent pace. But the presentation is too dull and quickly becomes boring at best. The characters are also decently fleshed out, which is notable considering the size of its cast, but it does so at the expense of its supposed "main" character. And most importantly, the characters feel out of place and do not synergize with their positions at all, almost as if they were randomly plucked from a Disney movie.

The only part of this manga that can be praised without significant fault is its art, but it's not exceptional either, and unfortunately, art alone cannot carry a work alone.

Overall, the manga faces significant problems from its lack of tension and realism, making for a very dull, and unenjoyable story.
