This is the first part of the Record of Lodoss War and it's a very entertaining start, you should still check out it's prequel The Lady of Pharis as it will give you some insight on the world and stuff that are often referenced in this.

The story is simple, it's about a group of people with different motive traveling to find the source of evil that is causing trouble thorough the land while a war between human is on the verge of breaking.
There really isn't any big twist, it's a basic fantasy story but everything is sill entertaining.

The character are also archetype, the human mc who always tries to help people, the scarred priest you get the idea but it make everything easy to follow.

Then there is the art i think is lacking a bit, background are fine, most older men charterer design look fine but woman especially Deedlit look really weird, it might be because i had already seen many fan art of her before based on the ova series that has a more classic good looking fantasy style but yeah Deedlit face really bother me.

Other than than that it's a simple story that flow and really a agood setup for the next part.

So yeah i would recommend it, the Record of Lodoss War is a classic series and while it doesn't offer anything original it is still very enjoyable.

Also i fucking love Deedlit so i'm very biased toward the series lol
