I usually have little tolerance for cliche female characters acting like assholes because some exuse or other, so after reading the reviews i didn't go into it with much optimism.
However I binged all the translated chapters, and I though it was good? This is pretty much the reason i decided to write this review, because i think many others miss the point.
There is teasing, and there is abuse. The line is not crystal clear, however, this is clearly not the latter.
If you look past what's being said, and instead focus what is done, and how the characters react to each other, it's clear that Nagatoro is not just a thoughtless bully. Sure, she's not conventionaly kind, but there is a certain kindness to hear, and she know's where too far is. How she acts could be generally considered messed up, but she doesn't act that way to everyone. What she does is specific to her relationship with the MC, and it works.
The story is still pretty short right know, but there is some slow and steady character development, and I'm pretty interested to see where it goes. If you've been put off by the bad reviews, just give it a chance.
