Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san review

Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san (or better known as Please Don't Bully Me, Nagatoro), is exactly defined by its title. A girl who bullies her upperclassman, and said upperclassman let's her get away with it.

The art style is very well done, but who would expect less from 774? If you do know his other works, it's understandable why it stands out. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The story does seem to go stale from time to time, but reading five volumes that are currently out (from the time I've written this review), it's a very slow progression, don't worry it does lead somewhere.
It's obvious that they both like each other, but like a slice of life feel, it doesn't blossom until further (way further) into the chapters.
I loved this so much I went and bought all four volumes to show my support, plus other merch. :P

Nagatoro and her Senpai do grow as characters throughout the story, unlike other anime where it feels like it took one day or a week where the girl would confess her love to the protaganist, this one is very gradual and the build ups are in small hints. It feels more realistic to me and I could relate to some of the actions taken place between them. I'm hoping that the characters keep growing and showing how much they've evolved from what they were from the beginning of the first volume.

Overall, it's good, not amazing but good. The story feels like it progresses, but in certain chapters it takes a few steps back (to me at least). Other characters besides the two main, don't exactly have their own unique personalities. Sometimes it feels like its three of the same person.

P.S.
I believe there's a certain time where you can read between the lines of what's bullying, and what's acceptable to what you'd allow a person to get away with. This is my opinion since for me, certain situations where a person would tease or sound like they're putting you down, are actually flirting or trying to build you up. Always remember, it's all about consent from both parties. ;D
