Summary
Jun'ichi Nagase attends a prestigious high school. He has the nickname Geno Killer since he was rebellious in middle school. This is used, inadvertently, to help a girl named Yuuhi Katagiri from trouble. She later transfers to his school, and in order to protect Yuuhi from danger, Jun'ichi is forced to kiss her. Not understanding what happened, she screams at him. Subsequently, it turns out that Yuuhi is his fiancé as arranged by their parents. Their parents discuss the matter and order them to go out together for a month to restore their relationship. If their relationship does not get better, the engagement will then be canceled.

Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka review
Whether you'll like this manga or not mainly depends on the following:
If you like those kinds of romances in which the guy that the girl is in love with keeps making fun of her which in turn makes her really angry, but in serious situations the guy is super nice to her - then this is the perfect manga for you. If not, you should probably read something else ;) Characters: The (three) main characters are very likable + believable. Junichi, the seemingly egocentric but actually very caring guy, Yuuhi, who is torn between her love and hate for him, and Minato, the reliable and hardworking little sister. The side characters stay one-dimensional, but are still likable. Art: The characters are well designed and drawn with great detail throughout the whole series. The backgrounds get less attention, but since it's mostly just classrooms or a living rooms, I didn't mind. Overall the style is pretty clean, which is a big plus for me. Story: A heartwarming romance that does an excellent job depicting the characters' thoughts and feelings, making you really care about them. The ending is great! |
Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka review
The anime was great, awesome, amazing! But I honestly find this manga to be pure dog crap. It pains me more than anyone to have to review it so terribly. I honestly had high expectations for it, and maybe they were to high, but this was terrible.
Typical harem, no twists, no turns. The ONLY likable character is Minato, which is why in the anime, I felt as though she got what she deserved....but not in this dog shoot manga. |
Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka review
I must say that this was awful... There was very little character growth, and it was typical. The only thing that set it apart from the other useless harems was...oh..wait...NOTHING. The anime is most certainly worth watching, However, the manga is NOT worth reading.
Story 1/10 Typical, Boy steals girls first kiss, she hates him for it, then....HIIJINKS ENSUE??? WAAA? (How suprising) Art: NOTHING stands out Characters: Bland Steriotypical Enjoyment: None at all! Don't waste your time. Watch the anime series. |
Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka review
Overall, I found the manga to be very solid and much more satisfying then the Anime. The story is pretty straightforward and primarily focuses on romance. It's basically your typical love triangle manga with the necessary twists, HOWEVER, it's not as twisted as the anime.
Considering it was only 11 chapters long, I was pleasantly surprised that the manga ended the way it did. Unlike the anime, the manga will not pull the rug from under your feet. I don't want to drop anymore hints, but I will say this though, if you didn't like the way the anime ended, you will probably like the way the Manga ended. To be more specific, you will either like it or hate it depending on whether you're on team Yuuhi or team Minato. If there was no Anime and it was just the manga, I would probably have the overall score somewhere around 8 or 7, but I have to give it a solid 9 due to the fact that I HATED the way the anime ended while I liked the direction the manga went. |
