Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
I just dont understand manhwa anymore, this is completely unreasonale and just nonsense. Before i read this i read another manhwa called "yaya" which is worse than this and i make a conclusion a lot of manhwa is just stupid.
I started reading this manhwa after get bored reading shoujo manga with annoying MC, actually i enjoy it at first, but it became more and more boring after they got into a relationship. I thought about dropping several times but i still continue wirh the thought of "just a little bit more and i can finish". The only thing i enjoy is the art which is decent and great, the other thing is just stupid and like .... ( i cant even describe it ). At some point of the story, the author make me think that the MC have a feeling for his boyfriend father, like WHAT THE HELL, ITS NONSENSE. But near the end that feeling just gone away and the ending is one of the stupidest thing. I already have a bad feeling about this, and its right, just like "yaya" the ending is rushed and the problem in this manga never has an outcome. SPOILER : So near the ending, the ML have a trauma and run away for 1 and a half year. After that the MC find him and they reunited. WHAT???? JUST LIKE THAT?? So i guess if u dont wanna read stupid and no point manga which just waste ur time, dont read it |
Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
This manhwa was one of the very best of what I've read so far. The story is not too complicated yet not a cliche. The art is very nicely detailed. I loved how the two characters slowly came closer to each other and start comforting each other and how their attitude changed for one another. It would be cool if they could make this drama like boys over the flowers or playful kiss. I like how the main character or the male lead was not so overpowered, he was a simple high school student with a traumatic past and how he slowly starts to change
bit by bit and also how the other guy tries to empathize after reading the texts. It's more natural and humane this way. Its more easier to relate to hence you'll really feel good while reading this manhwa cause it won't take you by surprise like "wf just happened" ! I can guarantee people will love this manhwa. I really hope it gets more views cause THIS IS A HIT!

Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
I scored this manhwa six not for being 'fine' but because it stands in the middle of two extremes.
Story 8/10 Nice story of connecting and finding what they need in each other. I just wish they didn't do the little useless twist that just made me read bitterly adding nothing. Art 7/10 Character 6/10 The characters had some development and growth but what can I say the love triangle and excess stress made us hate the characters many times. Although the sides characters are interesting and a joy. Enjoyment 3/10 The manhwa had great potential which was ruined after a couple chapters with the author's insane idea of hinting to a love triangle with the boyfriend's dad, which caused stress and made us uncomfortable. As I advanced the chapters got even worse and it just killed all the joy of the story and characters! And most of all, the ending felt so rushed as if the publisher was mad about the love triangle and was about to cancel the manhwa so they fixed everything in the last two chapters~ |

OKAY! so after reading like more than 70 romantic shoujos I was looking for something different and I just happened to find an image of this manga somewhere. I'm glad I looked into it! Trust me you'll love this manhwa. The story is amazing with not "fall in love in 10 seconds" and no random "doki doki " scenes. Very much practical, slow and steady, the story literally grows on you. And you will just keep on anticipating on what might happen next. The Art is amazing. I wish I could score it over 10 honestly. Just can't wait for the next chapters. It would
be a really good idea to make a drama out of it, if they do I just hope they get good cast and not ruin it. Thanks to the author for such an amazing piece!

Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
First of all, this review is an absolute big RAMBLE session so if you expect something that is very nicely constructed and worded..im sorry lmao. I never write reviews but I felt too strongly towards this manhwa that I had to make one.
ok so,, i am absolutely not a person who is good at writing reviews or even good at voicing my opinion in any way, shape, or form so i may not be the best at doing this kind of stuff,, so take my words as a grain of salt- if you may. But honestly, as I said, my feelings toward this manhwa were too strong to NOT write a review. ok, so first: i really loved how this manhwa started. the characters were very likeable and I really did care for them in the story. It was a very compelling read, I actually finished everything in a few hours (didnt even last a day tbh). Overall, the art was great (absolute 10/10), the characters were great and likeable, the story was nice...UNTIL THE FUCKING ENDING. (starting on from here its spoilers galore so if you havent read this yet I advise you stop here oof) ok, so everything was good, fine and dandy..until the author decided to form this love triangle including yeonho's father???? honestly ever since she said that she realized that she has feelings for the dad, I WAS ABOUT TO ABSOLUTELY GO THE FUCK OUT- but no, i was too invested in the story and the characters to do that. so I kept on reading. but as i went on..i started realizing how fucked up it is that it felt like young-un was literally cheating on yeon-ho with his fucking father. i mean yes, the father and her didnt like kiss and fuck and shit..but the feelings were there. and young-un acted like it was all ok. she liked spending time with the dad and basking in her feelings for him even though her boyfriend is literally HIS SON and as this fiasco went on i just started to feel uncomfortable and discouraged while reading. also, lastly, the ending FELT SO RUSHED. it didnt feel like a nice complete closure to the story at all. young-un never realizes that what she felt for his dad was wrong and it all just ends with this hug between the two on young-un's graduation day (after yeonho went missing for about a billion years)..and that's it. I am just generally, really dissatisfied and disappointed. I still hoped that it didnt end that way. I'm still giving it a 7..because I absolutely loved everything in this manhwa aside from the things I mentioned, and I will continue so. Anywho, sorry for the ramble. I just really want to know what the author was thinking when she decided that that love triangle would be a good idea :((. This could've been an absolutely great 10/10 for me. I'm still sad. (spoiler stops)🌟 Would I reccomend for you to read this? Well if you ask me, then yes. Read it. At the end of the day the story was very compelling and it was the type of story in which you couldn't put it down- even when I didnt like how the story was going, I was still very invested. So, if you want to read something that is refreshing and you-cant-put-it-down type of thing I would definitely suggest this. (spoiler here oopfs) Just dont read the parts where she starts having feelings for the dad because you might throw your phone through the window or some shit. I know from experience ;( |
Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
I've only read the first 6 chapters of this, because that's all I could find, but it's a really engrossing and suspenseful story and I'm almost frantic for the next chapter. I feel like it needs some support on MAL.
The plot starts with a wild, out of control high school boy, Yeon-Ho, who gets into physical fights a lot, these two other guys who are searching for him but don't know who he is because the rest of the student body is too scared of Yeon-Ho to tell them. Then there is this high school girl, Young-Un who is very popular with guys, and has had lots of boyfriends. We first see her breaking up with her latest boyfriend, and we get a false impression of her that's quickly revealed to be slightly off. This makes her character more 3-dimensional than it otherwise would be and levels the field between her and the mystery surrounding Yeon-Ho, and she actually turns out to be a strong and intuitive, smart person (rare in shoujo). She helps him and then he helps her and they become sort of entangled. She realizes quickly how alone this kid is and that he doesn't seem like he has anyone he can depend on. Everything in this story is not rose-colored, and romance is not at the forefront of the action. Somehow, these two people get involved with each other and every time it seems like they are going to drift away from each other, events conspire to throw them together again. It's a compelling read and totally worth your time. The premise may seem like a classic shoujo type plot but the interactions between the high school characters are a lot more nuanced than other shoujo. Earlier I called the story suspenseful, but it's almost more like the way the story is told is what is really suspenseful. There are mysterious backstories that are only revealed through certain interactions with characters. We meet and see and are regularly reminded of the characters' parents. This is rare and I think should be valued. Updates are sadly not frequent but I think that this is the type of manwha that will gather a larger following later on. The art is clean and conveys emotion with bold dark lines and high contrast for intensity alternating with light greys for delicacy. The artwork actually shows more of an appropriate variation and mirroring of the action it conveys than many other mangas I've read, where it seems like the story planning, drawing, and actually dialogue seem to have been written or planned at different times. Overall, I totally recommend this to anyone! You should read it! |
Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
I had a great time reading this manga, UNTIL.....
If I was asked what impression Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug left me with that would be disappointment. Not from the start though. Let me explain: When I started reading the manga and as the story kept unfolding I was more and more interested in it. The art was truly outstanding and the characters seemed to develop well. The story was very intriguing and really drew me in. But, the ending was soooo anticlimactic.... I mean, the plot had so much potential to continue and offer its characters more depth than that. Instead, what we got was a sudden and very rushed ending, which left me with so many questions about what's next. I was unsatisfied and sad , because I was enjoying myself so much reading it, but the ending was such a failure. Many things were left unanswered and the characters honestly deserved better. Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug is a great story, which in my opinion is worthy of your time, although be prepared to be disappointed in the ending. |
Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
This manhwa ended as if the author decided mid-story that he/she was no longer interested in the series and decided to wrap it up in two chapters. Literally two chapters!
Could have been so much better that it was, but left ALL loose ends. For all the drama and build up, there was no payoff. Very disappointed, and regret investing half my day reading it! I would NOT recommend reading it. The good- amazing artwork, and essentially everything up until the ending of the story was enjoyable to read (basically up to chapter 70). But I like to judge mangas by their endings, and this was by far the worst ending I've read in manga history! |
Awfully Damn Kiss and Hug review
A lot of these reviews with the 9's and 10's are a complete joke. They haven't even read the full manhwa.
What I could recommend, is you DO NOT READ it and here's why Let's start off with something quite positive which is the Art. The art was really decent in my opinion meanwhile the other aspects of this manhwa didn't give much justice to the art at all. ------------SPOILERS AHEAD------------------- At some point in this manhwa, the female mc would start to develop feelings for the male mc's dad. Of course, this was interesting and it had the potential to develop the characters even more. But here's the damn catch. This conflict was never resolved until the end of the manhwa and it got even worse. After that chapter, the female mc would show a lot of enjoyment when she's with the male mc's dad; meanwhile, when she's with the male mc, which is her boyfriend, she doesn't give that enthusiastic feel and always leaves the male mc hanging with the authors trying to justify that she was just trying to help the dad and the male mc improve their relationship. In the end, this was never resolved and the ending felt really rushed even if both mc's ended up together. Even though they end up, I still have that lingering feeling of the female mc trying to cheat or seduce the male mc's dad. For someone who's been in a lot of relationships, the female mc was insensitive af which just further aggravates the main character's depression Overall - 3/10 It was bad and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I do not recommend this manhwa if you want to sleep well at night. |
