"lol they're going to bang lol they didn't haha lmao" isn't funny for 200 chapters. It's grating.

It's like babysitting a toddler. Sure, at first it's all cutesy and laughs, but then it shits itself and starts wailing and the only reason you're taking care of it is because you're getting paid or it's a friends' kid.

No one was paying me to read this, nor is it my friends' kid. So I stopped.

Read it or don't, doesn't matter to me. In my opinion, There's plenty better comedy 4-koma out there. Try Seitokai Yakuindomo, That's funny and also is just sex jokes.

B Gata H Kei is one of the best and funniest stories on the subject of "first love" romance that I've ever read. It is at its heart a romance story, but its non-traditional take on it is what makes this manga so great. This is not a story with characters that act the way normal people do. Rather, this is a story where the characters do and say the things we've all wanted to, but couldn't. The author does a great job showing the insecurities and self-doubt most of us feel when dealing with new relationships, and it's her keen understanding of these aspects of human nature that make B Gata H Kei much more than it seems at first.

While this is a story about romance, the fore-front plot device is all about sex. And while this topic of sex permeates the story from beginning to end (this is not a story for kids to read!), I think of it as the bait that the author used to lure readers in. It's about sex, but it's NOT about sex. B Gata H Kei shows young people as we all were, and all will be-- inexperienced youths desperately fighting our hormones and, simultaneously, our fears of rejection, disappointment, and embarassment. While many high-school stories represent these fear aspects of young love, B Gata H Kei includes the topic of sex which allows it to explore these feelings to their conclusion, from beginning to end.

I think of B Gata H Kei like of a naughtier version of School Rumble, a little bit. They're both series about young people trying to find love and having non-stop, hilarious problems. The author being a woman also makes this story very different from the typical ecchi romance stories you see everywhere. This isn't a Shoujo manga by any means, but I think it would be more accessible to a female audience because of its approach. Most of the main characters are female and their insecurities are addressed even more than the male characters' (though our insecurities are revealed plainly too!)

Interestingly, at the end of one volume the author included some chapters from an early draft for her story, and it was really bad! The primary characters were the same and the basic concept was the same, but the flow of the story was entirely different. It was much more direct and plain. What I think makes B Gata H Kei so great is that it isn't so much about sex as it is about how trying to get it (the right way) is a long, terrifying, eventful road. Yes, a lot of the jokes are crude, and if you try to read all in a few sittings they will get a little old and predictable. But there are so many moments where you will say "I know that feel, bro" that you'll keep reading.

The ending is also mostly fulfilling, much more so than the anime. I do recommend the anime, the art is great and the humor is intact. For the first 3/4ths of the manga, it matches almost perfectly with the anime (though the manga has more material as you would expect) but the last quarter for the manga is entirely different, and I feel it's much more entertaining and interesting than the anime. If you enjoyed the anime, you definitely want to read the manga.

If you enjoy adorable romantic comedies and don't mind having characters with their minds in the gutter, you can't get to watching/reading B Gata H Kei fast enough!

AAAAHHHH, the world of the perverted old man who enjoys erotic thoughts filled with bliss. As we start of in this manga we encounter the main protagonist, Yamada, a normal (beautiful) highschool girl with a fetish for sex. Now this may be a turn off for some people because of course, this manga includes an infinite variety and descriptions of the different ways and doings of sex. BUUUUT although our main protagonist acts like an old man, the main goal of this manga is to make you burst out laughing, (and a bit of romance i guess) most people would probably rate this really low because of the somewhat crappy storyline but does it really matter when the manga completes its own purpose, in this case comedy? Do you need an elaborate story line to convey comedy? Take Gintama for example a highly rated anime with nothing but comedy and fillers( a few important arcs ) but completes and satisfies its viewers.

STORY - 8 - The story for B gata H kei is very simple, the main male protagonist ( Kosuda ) Following the elegant beauty ( Yamada (not elegant) ) pretty common, pretty simple romance you could say, unfortunately Yamada's sex interest causes LOTS of problems for this couple and the relationship advances incredibly slowly. But of course back to the purpose, not elaborate or complex, but simply comedy.

Characters -10 - HAHAHA, now could a female who is obbsessed with sex really be granted a 10 for character? OF COURSE, Yamada's character is so unique and different that you will absolutely fall in love with her. As for the other characters, other than Kosuda, Takeshita, and Kanejou, don't really play an important part of the story, i'll be honest sometimes the characters are predictable, but you'll be surprised with what they do.

Overall - Now please, if you are out of things to watch and bored to death because no one will take pity on your incredibly lonesome no-anime-watch-mode- Watch B gata H kei you will laugh, take pity, and ultimately won't be able to stop turning the pages. In my book this manga is a master piece.

Trying to express my love for a thing that I love.
This story from the start until the end remained the same thing. With that I want to say that it never "tried to do something extra".
That is a compliment.
Perhaps wrongly put though, I just mean that this story is very well designed/thougth out/put together. I never thought "What's this now supposed to be?". Nothing ever felt out of place.
Once I got used to how this story is told, there was no adittional getting used to to be done because of how the story is told.
The ending, a very important part of my conclusion above, is surprisingly good..
Now as I'm giving it more thought, I'm thinking how the ending of the story is the beginning of its best part.
I wish this would have a sequel, like for example such as what Tokyo Ghoul:Re is for Tokyo Ghoul..
Reading through this, I was completely connected with the story since its beginning.
How Yamada and Kosuda think and how they generally are is 100% relatable for me. The majority of the thoughts, the mindset and the ways of thinking by them are spot on on how real life was for me when I'd been of their age.
Finishing the story made me sad, and brought tears to my eyes because of how satisfied I was(and sad I am, because my observation of their universe has ended...).
This is one wholesome story for me, and it is so good that I feel as if it's ended at the part from which the story would otherwise reach greater height.
That not being the case is also a major part of my first drawn conclusion, how the story never goes beyond what it defines itself from the start.

I decided to start reading the B Gata H Kei manga after watching the anime but the manga was suddenly stopped and i was left unsure whether they were gonna be continued :(. But then I checked agen this year (2011) and the manga had been picked up and completed, so i decided to read the series incase the anime is never carried on.

As I read the manga, I truly fell for it all over again :p. Compared to the anime, the manga told the story in a very slower mode. This way I greatly enjoyed the story because we got to see the development of Yamada and Kosuda relationship which made it seem that more realistic. As you read along we also get to learn more about the other characters as well as questionable moments of Yamada's sex obsession (which is clarified by the completion of the manga) :p

The only thing I would say that really let's the mode down is the art work; but obvisioly I believe as you read along, it is best to let your imagination take control instead of just the drawings :)

Before I start reviewing, (*Warnings)
*I recommend the manga, not the anime. Since you get more in-depth with the story and it continues off where the anime stopped.

Summary: It's just about a popular school girl who wants to have sex with 100 guys, but somehow has trouble with her first one. She's still a virgin so she doesn't have any experience. Towards the middle, you'll see a lot of progress on how much she changed towards her goal.
*It sounds bad for some people, and it might turn some heads, but again I recommend to read before you judge, because it'll change your mind on the very first five chapters, and soon enough you just want to keep reading.

Plot (8.4): It sounds so bad at first, and I'll be honest... I was one of the few people who just gave this manga a skip so many times. Now that I've read it, I'm glad and wished that I read it much earlier, and wouldn't even mind reading it again in the future. There was some parts I didn't like, or thought that wasn't needed, but it fixes itself in the next chapter or page or so. I'm telling some of the people who were skeptical when reading the plot, to give this a shot.

Art (6.8): I feel the art is the down for this manga, but it can be cute at times also. Some of the characters can look the same, and sometimes it can even look pretty good. At others time it can look like crap, which is a harsh word to say when I'm praising, but it's the truth at times. So basically if you're into an anime with artistic talent, then I have to stop you here, because you're not finding that here, but then again I want you to give this manga a chance still.

Characters (8.6): Some of the characters are unique for what they are in a manga like this, and some of them can be cliche but somehow fit in a story that's about a girl trying to have sex with 100 dudes. The main guy, Kosuda can be sympathize with many men who are reading this manga, and that's what I like about that. I love it when every time Yamada talks about her sex problems, because she has no experience and is a virgin, it just makes it very funny to see her being so naive. That's the major strong hold of this manga, and I'm glad I didn't see them destroy that strong hold in towards the middle to the end either. So if you enjoy comedy, sex puns, naive misinterpretations, romance, and so on, then I recommend this highly to anyone.

Enjoyment (8.8): I'm glad that I read and finished this manga, 6 out of 10 mangas I've read I usually drop in the first few chapters because they whether either too cliche, bad, or just boring. I honestly told myself that I was going to read a few chapters to see how bad this was, but I was wrong, completely wrong... It's not the best manga I have ever read, but it's no where near the worst.

Overall (8.1): Going in with a mindset of thinking of dropping this manga in the very first couple of pages was completely dumb of me. I went from 1 page to 300 chapters, and I have no regrets what so ever. I hope a lot of people will give this manga a chance. It's something you won't regret... I swear to God.

Ah, B Gata H Kei. I remember being so reluctant to watch the anime when I first heard about it, and in the end, I ended up watching it and falling absolutely in love with it. I loved its humor and the relationship between Yamada and Kosuda; if it were any better, the anime could have gotten a perfect score out of me. The manga, which I started reading months after finishing the anime, managed to bring out the best in this series and give us a satisfying ending.

Now, after writing a crappy review for the anime that has since been deleted, I shall now present my review of the manga for B Gata H Kei!

B Gata H Kei follows a girl named Yamada (first name withheld), whose goal is to have sex with 100 guys before her high school graduation. There is just one problem, though; despite the fact that she is popular throughout her school, she actually has never had sex before. Thus, she decides that if she's going to achieve that goal, she's going to have to lose her virginity. Luckily, she meets a fellow virgin, Takashi Kosuda, and decides that her first time will be with him. Yamada then tries time and time again to get Kosuda to have sex with her, but as time goes on, she actually starts to fall in love with him....

The art from this manga is as good as in its anime adaptation, with solid character designs. For example, Kosuda was meant to be plain, and Youko Sanri definitely made him look plain! Now, the story in the manga is slower-paced than in the anime, and for some people, that can be really irritating. However, the slow story actually works in the manga's favor; it provides character development for several of the characters. The character development in the manga not only made me like Yamada and Kosuda more than ever, but it actually made me like characters that I originally didn't pay a lot of attention. Take Katase, for example; I didn't really care for her too much in the anime, but when the manga shifts its focus to her, especially her budding relationship with Kudou, she's actually a fun character.

Overall, I absolutely loved B Gata H Kei. If you're a fan of the anime adaptation or just don't mind lots of ecchi moments, I recommend you stop reading this review and read it right now. It doesn't matter whether you're a virgin or not; it's still great to see two virgins lose it to each other!
