World Customize Creator review
On one hand, it's the typical premise of a Japanese teenager getting transferred into a fantasy world. The ability he gets is unique, highly powerful, and activated through an interface straight out of a video game he used to play. Yep, sounds like every other cliche isekai out there.
On the other hand, the fantasy world feels real and is filled with characters who have their own motivations. Entire countries want to exploit the protagonist's powers, so there's lots of politicking and scheming. Others just plain fear him. Some want to befriend him. He has to build himself a place in this new world and for that social maneuvering is even more important than his powers. It's a weird one for sure: elements of video gamey isekai combined with actually good world building, politicking, and diverse characters. |
World Customize Creator review
pretty average in everything. Only the art is quite bad. The story is not very attractive but I think it can suits some persons without being great (not me I dropped at chapter 31). MC's power doesnt seem that OP because there are not much fights with MC, it's more focused on the story than the fights in itself. The fights are short and average. Characters are quite average too. MC is quite smart so he doesnt fall in every traps that's a good point, the other characters are not boring without being too much developed and the girls are nice. Overall, in this manga you will find a little bit of romance, a plot based on the story more than fights (plot against a country, fight between classes) and an "overpowered" MC even if it's more strategic than physic. This isekai is clearly not a hit but I dont think it's bad, maybe it's my lack of knowledge in isekai that talks because I have only read some "big" isekai but I think it stays average. That wouldn't be something that I recommend for someone who is seeking for an isekai or an overpowered MC though. |

"World Customize Creator" is a surprising manga. Typical male protagonist encounters something called "dark god", gains powers and gets transported to another dimension, which looks like taken straight from a fantasy RPG. Stereotypical as it seems, this series makes up for mediocre premise by it's brillant execution. Upon being transferred to another world, our hero is intrigued that people who live there speak his language. Upon a suggestion received from a local healer, he tries to eat several different food ingredients and spices to test whether this world's food is poisnous to humans form ours. Just to be clear, it is not lampshade hanging made for comical effect- characters are geniuinely concerned about those issues and treat them as a mystery that is yet to be solved. This trend is maintained, as our hero encounters all the obstacles and problems typical for the genre, but continues to respond to them in a surprisingly reasonable and realistic way. It should be noted, however, that this series isn't about cold, calculating robots, far from it- many characters are unreasonable, hot headed and impatient, while even those who are logical and calm tend to act on impulse in a very realistic way. That is the most prominent asset of "World Customize Creator"- it's sheer realism, almost unbefitting of something that seemed like a harem manga. This series isn't a masterpiece of any sort, but it's certainly worth a read, more so than many "mainstream" manga. |
