Attack On Titan, a classic manga of the 2000s. It's an absolute must read to any manga addict.

Story 10/10

Honestly, it's hard to rate a story a 10/10 for me. But I have to give Attack on Titan a 10. First off, the setting. Here we have humans in a world filled with Titans, creatures who feed on humans more for fulfillment rather than need. As the last of humanity is contained within walls like a cage for their own protection, few humans including the protagonist seek to uncover the mystery behind these mysterious Titans. The story revolves around the perspective of our main character Eren Jaeger, a assertive teenage boy who has an incredible amount of resolve to defeat the Titans.

This in itself is a great foundation for a shounen story. There's a protagonist with a strong motive and a clear but also mysterious antagonist/s. You have no doubt that it's a shounen manga. Then there's comes the mystery of the story. As you keep reading on, questions keep coming into your head. What's special is that the characters ask themselves the same questions. So you're entwined in the mystery and depth of the story. The story constantly reveals clues and evidence to the real history behind the Titans and the Walls that you're so engrossed that you can binge the series hours on end and not feel fatigue.

Art 8/10

The art is very unorthodox in shounen manga. But it works for the story enhancing the feel and look of the characters. What I don't like is the extreme sketchiness of the art. It sometimes seems a bit too unclean and unpleasant. But the strong point of the story is the depiction of movement in the art. It's not hard to make out what's going on and the movement of the pictures really depict a scene just like that from a movie.

Character 9/10

The characters are another strong point in the series. The main protagonist can come off as annoying as times, he's like a repulsive teenager. On his side he has two close friends, one being his adoptive sister Mikasa who seems to be obsessed with him. But all the characters seem to very well balance each other and create a great atmosphere in the series. The characters develop accordingly and you see a lot of development between the three main characters as they progress. You see the main character mature as he goes and you see Armin slowly start to acknowledge his place.

Enjoyment 9/10

Overall, just super enjoyable to read. What a great read honestly. It's thrilling exciting and indulges your thinking and curiosity.

Overall 9/10

Just a fantastic shounen manga and a must read to newbies in the anime and manga universe.
