Summary
Yayoi, a spunky high school girl, has inherited spiritual powers from her mother, and she uses these powers to protect people. During a fight with the devil Ura, Yayoi's power turns the devil into a black kitten. Now, even though Ura doesn't hide his desire to "eat" Yayoi's power when he gets the chance, they develop an interesting relationship: the two begin living together, and Yayoi takes her new feline "friend" on her adventures.

Mugen Spiral review
I found myself highly enjoying every minute of this manga…so much so that i felt the need to write a review! This really is a must-read for anyone…i guess it just left that big of an impact on me. I've reread this manga and I wish i could buy it…that's how much i love it. You see…it's really difficult to find a manga…or even an anime…with a plot about demons and romance that's actually terrific, so I must say that this is one of the best. Sure…it could be a little predictable at times, but other than that it was AWESOME! Full stars for this
one.

Mugen Spiral review
This manga has the potential to be an 8-10, I rated the story/art/character/enjoyment as 8 but I just can't give it a high overall rating mainly because of the ending. The story is really good and the characters are very likable the only problem is the ending which for me doesn't even count as an ending, it's like the mangaka simply decided to end the story right there and then when there is soooooo much more to do with the story. The ending was so abrupt!
A good read but don't get to attached or the ending will make you want to search for the mangaka and strangle her until she decided to continue and put a satisfying ending on it. :) |
Mugen Spiral review
This manga is probably best summarised as disappointing. It starts off with flying colours. The mangaka molds a good plot, comedy and a developing romance nicely into a story that really draws you in and keeps you interested. The art is pleasing to look at and the characters are very likable. It had the potential to be a 9 or 10. Unfortunately (and I can not fathom why), there is no end. It is not even a case of a weak ending or an ending I didn't like, it is almost as if the mangaka decided they couldn't be bothered
continuing the manga anymore so just slapped the word finished on the last chapter they were working on. There are so many unanswered questions, not to mention a great plot twist (had it been followed through) and intriguing characters introduced just before the end which have no explanation as the manga stops so suddenly. All in all, the ending really lets down a manga which had the potential to be so much more.

Mugen Spiral review
ALRIGHT!!!...SO I LOVE THIS MANGA!...It is VERY similar to other mangas(such as Inuyasha) but DO NOT BE FOOLED...This manga is FAR BETTER than Inuyasha...:)...Well...I love Inuyasha but I LOVE LOVE Mugen Spiral...:)
Story: So I gave the story a 10. The story is about a Demon named Ura who comes to the human world to try to gain a girl's powers to become stronger...(at least that is what we are lead to believe in the beginning...;])...ANYHOW...The story is cute filled with romance, exciting fighting scenes, funniness, and things that will overall make your heart flutter...:)...It is a good story and it is an absolute GREAT read. Art: So art is a 9...I really don't mind the art on this manga...The art is in fact GREAT...it is drawn pretty darn well...:)...I like it...:P Characters: THIS IS A 10...unlike Inuyasha and most mangas like it I wasn't annoyed by a SINGLE CHARACTER in this manga...Yayoi is thoroughly able to be independent, she is not whiny nor is like the typical heroine. She is strong and she is able to stand alone and take care of herself and THAT is what is the BIG difference between Mugen Spiral and Inuyasha. All the characters in this are strong, they can all be funny, cute, and they are absolutely overall FANTASTIC...NONE of them are annoying in ANY way...:) Enjoyment: 10!!! 10 ALL THE WAY!!!...I LOVE LOVE this manga...in fact as soon as I was done reading it the first time...I read it again...IMMEDIATELY...:)...Everything about this Manga is great and I THOROUGHLY, ABSOLUTELY enjoyed it. I couldn't stop reading it, I read both volumes in about 2 hours(more or less), and I just ate up the pages.:)...FANTASTIC...:) Overall: I Give this manga a 10. Even though it is not really an original story it is none the less FANTASTIC...read this if you haven't and don't expect it to be like ANYTHING YOU HAVE EVER READ OR SEEN...:) The concept may be the same as other mangas but that is pretty much where the similarities end.:)...I can't get enough of Mugen Spiral and I want MORE...:)...in fact my ONLY problem with it is that fact that there is only 12 chapters!!!...:) |
Mugen Spiral review
The plot has been rather adequately reviewed, but I wanted to quickly add my two cents (more of a warning, really): there is absolutely no closure at the end of this story. I imagine this manga was inexplicably and immediately dropped, because not one single thing is resolved. This is a story that ends in the middle. It's fantastic up until that point. It has so much promise. It's fun and entertaining, with great art and characters. But you WILL get blueballed at the "end." I read it weeks ago, and I'm still bewildered.
Just wanted to let y'all know before you decide to jump in. It really is a worthwhile read - just one that drops off a cliff. |
