Shishunki no Iron Maiden review
Okay...my first review...I´m nervous.
First of all this manga isn´t BAD I repeat isn´t BAD. But still I´ll focus on the bad side... cause yeah... fuck good reviews. (JK (Just Kidding)) Simply if you want to see a ORIGINAL manga with an ORIGINAL concept this isn´t for you (I repeat this isn´t a bad manga) I´ll say I was overestimating this manga cause it has the romance and supernatural tags sticked to it. I thought it was going to be different to all the other mangas with those tags. Seriously I haven´t read tons of manga but I still could know what it was that was going to happen next. But still I say it´s a good manga because this happens to other mangas too. It is interesting? Yes It is different? Yes It predictable? Hell mothafuckin yes Hope my review was interesting, go ahead and read this manga it´s well done but if you´re looking for something different just NOPE. (SPOIIIIIILEEEEER ALEEEEERT) -If you´re like me and want to read a manga that the mc doesn´t gets obsessed with the first girl he sees. DON¨T READ YET- Now if you know a manga that has this characteristics and the characters don´t end murdering the other characters TEEELLL MEE PLS -One- |
Shishunki no Iron Maiden review
At first I felt the other two reviews of this manga weren't really helpful, but after checking it myself I sort of understand what they meant. This isn't a bad manga. It has decent art, an original twist to a coming to age story, and the plot seems to have a decent rhythm up to when I left it (and usually if the first 5 or 6 chapters work enough the reader will stay even if he hates it later on). But it's just so boring, there's nothing to hook you in.
As I see it it's a mixture of poorly explaining the stakes in the matter, what would happen if the evil government finds out the main girl's secret, without giving enough space to the childhood friendship/love option of the story. The ecchi is pretty pointless, the guy could be an otaku or just fat and the plot would move more or less the same way; so there isn't anything grabbing your crotch instead of your head. I like MAL's definition of a 6, it's fine. Pronounced without any joy or interest, just fine, go do your thing. |

Puberty can be a difficult stage for both boys and girls(specially girls) as it brings many changes in our bodies that can be very confusing and sometimes scary...
The story takes place in middle school, where our hero Mayama Haruki has grown enough to be interested in wanting to do "perverted" things with girls, but still isn't mature enough to know what is this so called "secret" that girls have "each month"(get it?). The plot revolves around our MC finding out that the real secret of his childhood friend Himemiya Tsukiko, is something he wasn't expecting and he now must protect it at all costs for her sake. Although the story is unoriginal, the twists and turns it takes along the way make it very enjoyable. The secret alone is sufficient to keep you wondering what unlikely situation will happen next, and what our hero will do in order to keep it safe. One of the best things about this manga is the character development. It's amusing to see the immature pervertedness of our main character turn into love, and how he deals with his new found unrequited feelings. The art is beautiful, specially the faces and exaggerated expressions. They convey really well the emotions of the characters and bring out many different features with great detail. Another thing that stands out is the art of the "secret" which I would love to talk about but I don"t want to spoil it. There's a lot of thought put into the reason behind the "secret". The truth behind it works perfectly well as way to metaphorically explain the different kinds of feelings and physical changes a girl goes through puberty, which I thought was great. Even though the ending felt a bit rushed, it will not disappoint. |

Story: the story was interesting and good however it lacks of information
about other characters, sure thing they explained what is metamorphosis all about but they didn't show how did the other characters know how to cure it since it mention already that all article about metamorphosis was purposely hidden from the public's eye. they didn't also explained the background of one character there who's so obsess everything related to metamorphosis which i think is very important to explain. 8/10 Arts: I like the design of the main heroine so 9/10 Character: well i also like their personality so another 8/10 Enjoyment: Its a good ride. 8/10 Overall:8+9+8+8+8/5 = 8.2/10 (recommended) |
