Summary
Katagiri Yuuichi believes that friends are more important than money, but he also knows the hardships of not having enough funds. He works hard to save up in order to go on the high school trip, because he has promised his four best friends that they will all go together. However, after the class' money is all collected, it's stolen! Suspicion falls on two of Yuuichi's friends, Sawaragi Shiho and Shibe Makoto.
Soon afterwards, the five of them are kidnapped, and wake up in a strange room with a character from a short-lived anime. Apparently, one of them has entered them into a "friendship game" in order to take care of their massive debt. But who was it, and why did they have such a debt? Could they have stolen the money from class to pay for entry into the game? Yuuichi and his best friends will have to succeed in psychological games that will test or destroy their faith in one another.

Tomodachi Game review
Story: 9
The protagonist is relatable, though his thought process is unorthodox and sometimes things are just too forced. However, this manga takes real attention to detail and it is possible for the reader to come up with conclusions even before the protagonist. An example of this is the magic trick made by Kamishiro-sama to deceive Kokogori in the Gambling Cruise. Some details are hidden in the images, and there are lots of variables to think of while reading the manga, but it succeds in nit being too hard to understand. Art: 7 The manga art could be better, and the author shows their talent in the beginning of chapters with astonishing stuff, but sometimes the artstyle is just average and there is some fanservice and ecchi, negative points in my opinion. However, there are hints in the visuals that can lead the reader to conclusions, which is nice. Character: 8 Characters are sometimes deep, sometimes shallow. As it is an ongoing series, there may be space for development in the future. The fact is: characters are rarely forgotten and their development is sometimes shocking. Enjoyment: 10 The work put by the author in the manga is just overwhelming. It is not truly original, though special in its way. Just enjoyable and fun, you will definetely feel good after you understand something complicated. Overall: 8.5 I'd recommend Tomodachi Game to any friend. Truly great |
Tomodachi Game review
Story : 7 : Starts off with 5 friends who seem like they are close. all friends have different personality. They are then about to go on a field trip with admissions cost 70,000 YEN. After all the money is collected, the money is stolen by someone. All friends are then called to one spot where they are "Invited" to a game of Friends. Among those friends is a traitor. The Friends must work together to find the culprit. Will it be the MC Yuuichi, Rich kid Makoto Shibe, The Wise Tenji Mikasa, the "Normal girl" Yutori Kokorogi or Vice- Prez Shiho Sawaragi. || The
story starts off very strong. Flashbacks of Yuuichi's mother, some character development parts. Then its off to Yuuichi Complain about his low salary job for the trip. The story Doesn't give much details about about anyone although, it gives the reader an Idea. These ideas will change significantly threw out the story. Yet the strong start, the fun started to disappear for me. (Chapter 28). Despite its great start, the ending will be very obvious. ||
Art : 8 : The art here needs no essay. The Drawings are great, and somehow relate to there characters. After reading 2 Volumes, you too will realize this. Satou, Yuuki may not be someone famous, the art is really outstanding. The theme is very dark and creepy. Character : 9 : Character development is not the greatest, but little by little is given every so often. The Personality of all characters are great, you could relate to them but i found it was difficult for me. Each of them live a very different life. One is poor and one is rich. Enjoyment : 9 : The super plan the MC creates always has you on the edge of your seat. The cliff hangers on the end of the Chapter wants you to read more. I personally enjoyed it very much because of The good story, interesting characters and because you don't get to see a MC who is actually smart with other people. The best parts are when you actually have to think about what your reading. Sometimes taking chances are the smallest chances are the best chances is be demonstrated here Overall : // 8 \ : I really enjoyed the Manga, specially when i don't really get interested in those genre. I only read manga of those anime i truly enjoyed. This is a one of a kind anime which will make you question your friends in real life. |
Tomodachi Game review
Okay so, this is my first review and i'm not really familiar with English language, but oh well i'll try my best
First, The Story Rating : 9 Why did i give it 9 and not 10? well here is my reason, The story is actually very interesting about how a group of friend suddenly wake up in a room and told by the game master that one of them have a huge debt but the game master say that if they play the "Tomodachi game (friend game)" the debt will be gone. Well technically it like testing their friendship and of course they agree and play the game. Yeah, the prologue of this manga is actually really plain if i have to said so. But what surprised me is the plot twist and to be honest i love it that why i gave the rating of story 9. But you know what? i hate this story in a way too, how the tactic/winning strategies was explained and you guess what? it's so damn long! and i don't really like long conversation or something like that, that's why i didn't give a 10 for the story. Second, The Art Rating : 8 Well the art is decent and some thing are drawn so detailed Third, The Character Rating : 10 Damn right, i really love the character especially the MC. Well i like the other too, but my favorite one is the MC, sorry i can't tell you exactly how i like the MC because it will be full of spoiler Forth, Enjoyment Rating : 9 This manga is just so interesting and so unique and.. ugh i don't have the right word but who cares?! The only thing i know is I REALLY ENJOY THIS MANGA. but you know why i didn't give this a 10? that because there a little thing that ruined my enjoyment. like how the female character getting all clingy and stuff but well its okay i guess. other than that, i really enjoy this manga Thoroughly. Fifth, Overall Rating : 9 Yeah, this manga deserved some good rating and i really recommended this manga for those who like death note or psychology genre Well, i guess that all... i'm sorry if there any word that misspelling or wrong or something like that because i'm not that familiar with English language. |
Tomodachi Game review
I don't usually write reviews but I guess this series deserve one, as the rest are kinda old ones. This is a spoiler free review:
Story: The story is kind of generic at start, especially the first five chapters, but oh boy, does it take a big turn. The story develops in one of the best stories I have ever seen/read. It nails each and everything it uses, the romance, the battle of wits, the twists, the characters, the art. 10/10 Art: Nothing much to say for art but it is fantastic. It feels dark and amazing. 9/10 Characters: Now this is the strongest aspect of this series, the characters are absolutely fantastic. the Main character is one of best character I've seen. His dark persona and his twisted methods of doing good is a treat to watch. Each and every characters have a good character development. We get backstories of how most of the characters ended up like in the series. 10/10 Enjoyment: I really enjoy this manga and it's one of my favorite to exist. I would definitely recommend this manga if you are a fan of mind games and battle of wits with the dark and twisted story mixed in. 10/10 Overall: 10/10 |
Tomodachi Game review
Story: 9/10
How the manga moves from arc to arc is almost seamless. The story simply just flows nicely and it makes you want to keep reading. The plot is tense enough to make you want to know more and even try to figure out the tricks yourself. Each strategy that Yuuichi employs seems plausible, yet the utter nonchalance of his sometimes horrible actions give you a small sense of horror. In each arc there is a clear goal, a climax, and a very satisfying resolution. However as I read this, it seems that Yuuichi will always win which lessens the effect of the story, but how he solves each problem is a nice brain teaser. Right now the current arc is such a roller coaster since all the mysteries that have been brought up in the previous ones are culminating together. Art: 9/10 The art is absolutely awesome especially as the artist draws Yuuichi’s insane faces which gives the reader chills. There is no gore but the art still manages to unsettle you in with the vast facial expressions of each character. Character: 9/10 Character development is honestly great. We get to see Yuuichi slowly descend into madness and attempt to stay sane with each game. Character motivations are always clearly fleshed out and seem plausible. With each chapter, we get to know a little more about each character’s personality and maybe even learn a shocking backstory. We get the front seats to see a friend group absolutely break apart and get mended as characters try to understand each other. New characters are sometimes a bit stereotypical but it’s fine. Each character has their own quirks and traits and their appearances are never the same which makes it easy for readers to differentiate who is who. Enjoyment: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 I fully enjoyed the entire ride. Each arc was a joy to read and it was nicely tense. The resolutions are always super satisfying and I actually enjoyed reading the expositions because each speech bubble had its purpose in the manga. Nothing seemed meaningless. This manga is not philosophical and thought provoking but the problems the characters face are always fun to read. It’s a nice escape from reality. |
Tomodachi Game review
The story itself is amazing, the characters are amazing, just everything is amazing. The plot starts off with 5 close friends trapped in a room and one of them is in debt. There is so much excitement, betrayals, and suspense it makes a great story.
Of course not all the characters are likeable, but they all have an important role to play no matter how annoying or clingy. The MC is especially likeable and all the characters have very special traits about them. All the arcs are amazing in their own way, naturally some are more exciting than others but even the boring ones have a story to tell. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you want to stay up all night to read it, it makes sure you would never want to drop it. When you first start the series I would recommend skipping the prologue, other than introducing the characters it's pretty boring. I wouldn't recommend it to people who are sensitive to blood or nudity though, it doesn't often appear but it does a couple of times. 10/10 would recommend it to people who don't mind |
Tomodachi Game review
TL;DR – Has a really generic start (first ~5 chapters), but the layers of depth integrated in the games and characters quickly develops Tomodachi Game into a very compelling manga.
-- Story -- (Mild plot structure spoilers.) First 5 chapters set up a really basic "friends get kidnapped and have to play through games designed to test their friendship" scenario. The scope of the story opens up a lot more in chapter 6, and this is when the manga starts showcasing its strengths. Bulk of the manga involves watching the characters challenge these "Tomodachi Games". The games are very well thought out, and seeing the characters' unique approach to each of these games ensure there's never a dull moment. -- Characters -- Like the story, the initial introduction of the main characters was very weak; they came off as very basic interpretations of their respective character types. They didn't even look or feel like a group of friends, which is pretty bad considering the premise of the series. Also like the story, the character development significantly picks up from chapter 6 onwards, and damn is the development they get good. Due to their bonds constantly being tested, it's natural for the nature of their relationship to continually change as a result. But what makes it so compelling is how we can see exactly how the changes affect their interactions with one another, and how each successive Tomodachi Game builds upon those changes; Layers of depth are constantly being added to their relationship, and seeing the meaning and weight behind all of their interactions adds to the manga's rewarding reading experience Main characters aside, we also get a colourful cast of side characters. What they lack in character development is made up aplenty with strong characterisation and seamless integration into the story and setting. Whether it's for hating on an antagonist, comedy, fanservice, empathising with a character or whatever, Tomodachi Game has it all (maybe) and it does it all well (definitely). Without a doubt, the side characters also greatly contribute to the enjoyment of the manga. (P.S. Marie is best girl.) -- Other -- Art: I wasn't paying much attention. Can't think of anything bad off the top of my head. Facial expressions and emotions are portrayed really well. The "sakuga" shots are great. Enjoyment: I read chapters 15 to 66 continually over 13 hours. This is a monthly manga. https://i.imgur.com/KY7HZsE.png |
