The Horizon review
Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas

The horizon is one of the most interesting war stories that I've read so far, it tells a story of a boy who's trying to survive and preserve his humanity but each and every step of his journey reminds him that there are many awful people on our planet. Despite being only 21 chapters long "The horizon" shows us many different ways in which war influences people, but all of them have one thing in common, it changes innocent civilians into withered versions of themselves. This story is universal, it can take place in every single country on the planet and the suffering, death of the innocent and emotional trauma will follow it whereve it goes

Every character has their own way of percieving the world around them and has been influenced by it in many different ways, some are willing to do anything in order to survive, others have been completely destroyed and their life has changed into one long streak of pain and suffering. In this world no one is safe, main character is oftenly walking along hundreds of nameless corpses which belong to regular people who just haven't been lucky. This manhwa tackles topics of existentialism, schopenhauerism, nihilism but most importantly pacifism, right from the get go we see innocent civilians being murdered and later on we get to see that even those who managed to survive will to have to do many morally questionable things in order to survive. This series won't give you an easy answer, each ideology and approach to the situation that characters are in is presented with both flaws and merits but none is presented as the definitive, correct one.

The visuals are simply stunning, every single pannel conveys a message, some are genuinely terryfing, others really sad but all of them tell a story and this manhwa simply wouldn't be as good without them. Pannels can be both expressionistic, naturalistic and symbolistic, and even a combination of all of those styles, it really depends on the context but one things certain, all of them hit hard. Ji-Hoon Jeong is especially good at portraying facial expressions, just all it takes is a glance to understand what a given character is feeling and the more you look at it the more you get it, it almost seems as if the author has seen Dante's hell.

In conclusion, "The horizon" is not the most pleasant manga to read, it tackles many serious topics and presents many deprresing scenes, but despite that it's a masterpiece. The author did his best to show a universal depiction of war, one that can happen everywhere and ruin many lives. Thanks to the impeccable visuals the series emotional climaxes are way more memorable. This story is at it's core a story about how one's psyche can be crushed and how even the most innocent children will suffer, not knowing why or who decided that their life will change forever.

Devilman Lady review
Devilman lady is a sequel to the original 70s Devilman which is one of Nagai's best known works if not the best.
Before reading Devilman Lady I've heard rumors of it being not that well written.Well that surely kinda made me worry as I really liked Devilman and i did not want its sequel to be appalling. In the end ,during the first volumes it proved to be mediocre , it was kinda random and not things of huge importance were happening.Things get really interesting during volume 7 and after it ,when something really unexpected and shocking happens (cannot say cause it's a major spoil).

Anyways the story is pretty interesting and well written ,this time the thing that is mainly indicated is the demons' desires and way of thinking ,which is really intriguing according to my point of view at least. The story reaches its peak during volume 7 and after.I've also heard numerous people saying that the ending was awful,I would definitely not call it bad though, I firmly believe that its only disadvantage was the fact that it was a ginormous cliffhanger, but answers will be given in Devilman Saga probably so i suppose that there is no problem. 8.10

The art has been greatly improved in comparison with the original Devilman (well there is a 20 year gap between them so....), original's art was surely great ,but it was greatly inhanced in its sequel and that's a fact 8/10

The new characters the story provides are great , readers can form bonds with them quite easily ,characters from Nagai's previous works appear in Devilman Lady ,so people who have read and enjoyed Nagai's works prior to Devilman Lady will probably be as delighted as i were while reading it. 8/10

Taking the aforementioned into account, Devilman Lady is a pretty dam' nice and it should get more positive attention .Obviously it was not even close to how great the original Devilman was, however it was a great sequel for sure

Bra Girl review
Please note that this manga focuses heavily on a girl and her struggles with having a penis. If that is not your cup of tea, this manga may not be for you. If it is or it doesn't matter to you, great! I highly recommend it. It's cute and wholesome and I loved every minute of it. Not sure? Read on.

Bra Girl (or Swing Girl as it might be called) follows the short story of a girl named Ooi Haruka who is madly in love with a boy who saved her from a train groper, but there's one problem: she has a dick. Yes, in this world there are girls who grow a penis during puberty, and Haruka is one of them. She is very self-conscious, shy, and in a near constant state of lust. This strong sexual desire is a trait that causes a lot of strife and embarrassment for her.

The story mainly focuses on Haruka meeting a group of girls who also have the same trait as her, giving her people to open up to and tackle the difficulties of being a female with a little extra attached. With her new-found friends, she's aiming to be more confident in herself and her body while also finding out the name of the boy she is in love with and ask him out.

The art is very nice and pleasing. If you've ever read Nana to Kaoru also written by Amazume Ryuta, you'll see how similar the art is and the general character designs. The art is great at showing Haruka's emotions, she has a lot of cute facial expressions that made me like her character a lot more than a typical main character.

I truly wish the manga was longer. It clocks in at a measly 8 chapters, so a little over an hour of reading depending on your reading speed. Because of this short length, the characters don't get fleshed out as much as a typical manga. Don't let that discourage you though! Side characters still get a little side story to them so they don't feel like they're there for no reason.

Overall, the series was super fun to read for me. The ecchi comedy worked well, and there wasn't a single character I hated. The short length may help if you're just looking for a quick read, too. If you know your tastes, you should have a good idea by now if Bra Girl sounds interesting to you or not.
