One Piece is a masterpiece of storytelling that anyone should watch during his lifetime! So what are the gems that lie beneath this story, in general? (I''ll comment about the anime version at the end of this review)

STORY 10: (personal importance factor [pif] x1.2)

Well, there is a lot that can be told about the story but I'll try to be really laconic. We have a newby young pirate named Luffy setting off on his adventure across the oceans to become the King of Pirates. Yes, it's really commonplace. But what's pulling you in on this grossly big adventure is Luffy getting new nakama and the wonderful experiences they come along with as a big family. My compatriot Cavafy's poem (written more than a century ago) describes Luffy's journey in a beautiful and exact way:

As you set out for Ithaka
hope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
angry Poseidon—don’t be afraid of them:
you’ll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.

Luffy and his friends travel a long way through an enormous ocean with a major variety of strange and amazing islands, kingdoms and societies awaiting them. Each unique yet a part of a uniform whole. All these different places and societies broach many real-world issues, such as diversity, racism, political corruption and much more... And they are all tied together in a perfect way!

Well, the art (both in manga and anime) complete the whole with respect to the detailed story, as well as the anime version adds an enjoyable liveliness.

Luffy and his nakama make such a great company that I wish I could become one of them. Their bonds are strong enough to consider them a family and, in another way, their journey is rather a family adventure. One's dream is everyone's dream! Their nakama lives are more important than theirs! This is One Piece!

In conclusion, I could type in front of my laptop's screen for hours but that would be much of a torture for the readers. If anyone reads this at all. :p :p :p

One Piece : the manga I've never thought I would read but then it become one of my all time favorite and my number one priority read every week. It started out as funny and full of action kind of story and then when the story dive in deeper it's full foreshadowing and moral meaning that parallels our society these days. Just a good manga recipe for me. It's awesomely drawn, especially the background work. And one of the only manga that ever made me cry even after reading it a lot of time and that A LOT. If you ever feel like 800+ chapter is too much to read, just try it and you'll get hooked on it and you'll never regret reading it.

This manga is simply bad. The success of the series is probably due to marketing.

The characters are so trivial. The villain are bad because they born bad. that's all. The heroes are good because they are good.

The story is always the same. All the narrative arcs are just the same. Each arc is composed clearly by litterally the same events.

The powers are nonsense. There are the devil fruits, ok, but everytime happens something that has nosense. For exaple Rufy is made by rubber, ok , but then he is poisened and he simply doesn't die... And the manga is fullfilled of stuff like that. Some villain shot at Zoro (that has no powers) and nothing happens. Sometime really random power ups happens without any sense. For example (spoiler) in the fight Zoro vs Kaku Zoro, Zoro pulls out of nowhere 4 other arms, 2 other heads and 6 other sword from nowhere.

The fights are bad too, just because the main characters wins just because they are the main characters. The are weaker than their opponent, but at the end they win... That's all.

Even the artstyle is bad, it's raw and caothic, and you can often find some wrong proportions and prospectives

ill j say what i think, as not being a stan of One Piece and also being a person that doesnt think that One Piece can do no wrong

Art (8/10): Nothing amazing, just ur usual shonen art. Spreads are nice, but every spread in every jump budget shonen manga has abt the same quality. I place the art in between Naruto's and Bleach's.
Story (10/10): This is why ur reading the manga, shits insane. Legit every arc is gold imo except for one of them legit being ass tier and the other just being boring bcs its and exposition arc. Im not gonna say the exposition arc is ass tier tho, its like good ig still. Other than those 2, exery single arc is completely different bcs its a different island
Comedy (8/10): Nothing special, average shonen comedy. Theres just some really good ones at certain points. It does the job, sure it isnt up to comedies like Gintama, but this is a action/adventure series and not an episodic comedy
Characters:
Design (10/10): Each Character is different like completely in both their personality and the way that they look. No character ever looks recycled and each one of them has their own role to play
Development (6/10): I feel as though there is almost no character development. Lets take Luffy, the MC, for instance. If u take him from chapter 1 to chapter 800, he basically the same except hes insanely stronger (the fact that hes much stronger isnt a bad thing). Theres some points where he could have developed i feel like, but it was missed. Something happens right before timeskip that could have easily made him into a much more complex character, but hes basically turned into the same thing except he feels a little more grief. Nico Robin is downgraded from pre to post timeskip. She was legit my favorite character in the crew tied with zoro, but now shes just there. She was really interesting and complex and now she doesnt do anything. Usopp i feel has developed really well. He was certainly a coward and knows that everyone he fights is stronger, but he actually evolves into a person that realizes his own cowardice and improves. Chopper is fine, he starts as the mascot and hes still the mascot. Zoro was a negative parabola imo. He starts out kinda changing into this person who distrusts Luffy to someone who is willing to die for him. Then he devolves into a bloodlust machine that trusts luffy with some alleigances acording to luffy's alliances. Sanji, i swear sanji was a missed oppurtunity. He starts from this perverted woman loving cook, to a perverted woman loving cook who is stronger. Theres this point in a really later arc, in which he gets betrayed by a woman really hard. He could have changed into someone who knows that woman can hurt him, nope. He remains exactly the same.
Villains (9/10): They're all unique and each one has their own motivations. They all have different personalities and such. The way they are beat is also really unique.
Power System (8/10): Average shonen power system but its a bit improved so it isnt insanely broken to one side. Its not HxH level of amazing, but its not autistic like bleach's became in the end.
World Building (10/10): Best world building i have ever seen, they have legit made a whole planet that makes sense and works.
Overall: Manga is a 9.5/10

Best thing I ever watched/read/seen in my life. And trust me I've seen a lot from Indian cinema to Hollywood, but there's nothing as legendary as One Piece. It is the most special thing in my life. It is a book so good you just can't stop reading. It's more addictive than cocaine and I literally mean it. It helped me through tough times, there isn't a chapter for which I HAVEN'T SMILED. Every single page is more intense than any american TV show. (That includes Breaking Bad.)
Art: Oda's art, duh. 10/10
Story: The greatest story mankind has ever come up with. 10/10
Character: Every character is close to my heart, every One Piece fan at this situation should be biased, cause they are the greatest fictional characters. 10/10
Enjoyment: The greatest form of entertainment a living creature can ever witness. One Piece is a true treasure. 10/10
Overall: The greatest manga of all time, the best fictional universe of all time, the most beautiful treasure.

I started One Piece 33 days ago, and just now I read the latest chapter. And to be honest, I don't even remember the last time I was this entertained.

One Piece is a romantic tale of pirates, or at least, that's what it appeared to be at first. But as the story continues and you began to understand the world of One Piece, you see just how much effort has been put into creating something this diverse.

The story touches upon various sensitive themes like racism, slavery, annihilation, without romanticizing them... and the way it all continues to connect is something I find quite fascinating. Although, I could easily see how some people may find the story of One Piece a bit too coincidental...

Though, as much as I liked One Piece I do have a few concerns about the characters. Even thought the series has been ongoing for more than 2 decades, the characters keep using the same kind of pick up lines they used when they first joined the crew. It often feels like the characters have become a little stale.

You feel an emotional connection with when you are seeing their backstories and although they do have their moments and character developments.

What's missing is the subtle character growth!

Well, maybe it's the editors at Shuesha that are making Oda use the same old jokes. So I don't think it'll ever change.

But I do want the series to use more sarcasm and less repetitive comedy.

Anyways, this is just a few of my fresh thoughts now that I have caught up with One Piece. Its 4 am right now.

one piece is one of most unique shouen series in history bcoz of certain elements like :
1.focus on each crew member showing why they are the way they are
apart from main protagonist luffy every other crew mate has a proper back story,character,skill ,fighting style and a propose on the ship
2.natural flow of story : another grt thing about it .Oda sensei's way of story telling unlike other shounen manga like dragonballz and naruto charcter dont just power up arc by arc as the story progress they grow stronger with time
3.even if the show is 700+ episodes you don't get bored coz each island has its unique traits and villains and fun
4.all around one piece make it worth your time

One Piece is the best piece of fiction I have ever experienced.
Starting watching and reading One Piece is the best decision of my entire life so far.
So, obviously, One Piece is my favourite manga and anime, my favourite series of all time. As a result, this review will be very subjective and full of good things to say.

Story: 10/10
The storytelling of Oda is a gift from the Gods. The way how something mentioned in a chapter will become relevant 300 or 500 chapters later is incredible! Every chapter and arc introduces a lot of new mysteries, every character has something to do with another, who you did not expect. The worldbuilding is fascinating, the world is in a perpetual expansion, every faction has its own motives, its own good guys and its own bad guys.
This story has adventure, action, comedy, drama and everything someone would want! When Oda wants you to cry, then you will cry. The flashbacks and backstories are heartbreaking. The level of foreshadowing that is put in this manga is insane.

Art: 10/10
Even if at the beginning the art style seems a little simplistic, it becomes one of the best parts of the story. The visuals on a double spread page are breathtaking. The quantity of characters and the beauty of the backgrounds, the movement, everything is done perfectly! One of the best things about this manga is that every cover page has something to do with the actual story. Sometimes Oda will take cute and funny requests from the fans that he will draw in the cover page in a few chapters, then he will draw a cover story, showing what are other characters doing when they are not present in the actual arc. Oda is advancing the story with a few pages. Moreover, the colour spreads are fabulous! One of the coolest things is to see the Straw Hats chilling together with some animals or going into new adventures, flying or eating pizza.

Character: 10/10
Even if One Piece is a story-driven series, the characters are all well developed and their progression and evolution are on point. The members of the Straw Hat crew will keep their basic personality traits, quirks and running gags, but they will each grow as an individual and learn during their journey together. When we meet a new character, we are all waiting to see their backstory, what motivates them to do what they are doing, their reasons to act as they do. Seeing them grow as a family is a precious thing to me. One Piece can become dark at some points, especially in the flashbacks to show us how cruel the world is, how corrupt the government is and how everything it affects the characters and the story. The world is moving alongside the characters and at the same time completely separate from them.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Of course, it is my favourite series. I will continue reading and watching it until the end and every week I am so hyped for a new chapter.

Overall: 10/10
I recommend One Piece to everyone. If you like complex shounen manga, with pure gold comedy, beautifully written characters, lots of adventures every new arc, cool and meaningful fights, worldbuilding from the hands of gods, storytelling never seen before and heartbreaking drama, then One Piece is for you without a doubt.
Read the first 100 chapters or go watch the special Episode of East Blue. If the story does not appeal to you, then One Piece is not for you. I guarantee you that once you start this journey, you will not stop and you will not regret it.

The manga can have slow pacing sometimes, which can be irritating, but I believe that One Piece is made to be binged. If you read 10-20 chapters a day, you will be able to truly experience the greatness that is this series.

One Piece. When someone who hasn't watched OP hears One Piece, the first thing they think of is how long the series is. TL;DR at the end.

Story: 10/10

Seems pretty simple, but the MC, Luffy, wants to become to Pirate King and have adventures with his friends/nakama. Basically to just have fun and chill with them. As the story goes on, new crewmates are recruited and their backstories are told. The main reason why I actually like OP is because of the incredible story telling and deep moments. I won't say anymore than that, I wouldn't want to spoil anything too much.

Art: 10/10

Not really much to say. The art starts to improve as the series goes on like most older mangas/animes, though sometimes criticized due to the females having over-sexualized bodies as the art style changes.

Character: 10/10

The amount of character development and usefulness of every and each single crewmate are one of the other main reasons OP is my top favorite series. Each crewmate has their importance in the series. Each character knows their roles in the crew, holding responsibility to carry their weight.

TL;DR and Overall rating: 10/10

One Piece is definitely worth the time. It stands as my top favorite. The story telling is incredible and the deep moments stand as it's equal. One Piece gets serious when they need to gets serious, but also gets nonchalant when the time is right.

I don't think I need to explain why One Piece is fantastic and a narrative masterpiece. All of the other reviews have said what needs to be said in a much better manner than I ever could. So, instead of doing the easy job and telling you why One Piece is so great, I'm going to detail my ONLY major complaint: the fan-service/depiction of women.

This "review" will have minor spoilers.

The fan-service before chapter 600 was bearable. It crossed my boundaries maybe once or twice in the Thriller Bark Arc, but, otherwise, I didn't mind. But, my goodness, once chapter 600 hits and we get post-timeskip Sanji, I'm just barely able to like his character and Oda's depiction of women. Thankfully, after Fishman Island Arc, Sanji becomes his better self, but I still am not a fan of how Sanji is written, and how Nami and Robin have basically become outlets for Oda to draw over-sized breasts. It's unfortunate because none of the female cast is written poorly, per say, but it's obvious that their designs only really serve to get the bodies of little boys to pump out hormones faster than Luffy's Jet Gatling. I really hope the fan-service gets toned down later, as I'm only on the Punk Hazard Arc as I write this.
I'm sure that, for a lot of people, this is not an issue. And I think it's important to note that the fan-service doesn't degrade any of One Piece's other outstanding elements. But, I'll be honest, it's starting to drive me crazy, and, if it continues, it will seriously lower my enjoyment of this otherwise amazing manga.

Let me start this off by stating that this is my favorite story in all of fiction. It is a story I started thinking it to be nothing more than a short (yeah right) and simple (boy howdy) adventure. I had no idea that it would become my most beloved show of all time, and I am truly grateful that I found it and continue to be able to experience it.

Now lets begin the review!

When it comes to One Piece, obviously you got to be in it for the long run (As you can clearly tell by its length), and it's only natural for that to make you never want to sit down and catch up with the manga. However, I can tell you with absolute positivity that the time spent and the length of the story is worth it. In the years that this show has run Oda has created a world unlike any other I have ever seen. A world that since day 1 he has created this sense of scale and wonder that even to this day I feel my imagination run wild with what can come next. He has given us truly breathtaking locations that even the most ridiculous in concept feel genuinely alive, with each of them having distinct culture and atmosphere uniquely their own. As the story has progressed he has given us a detailed map within our minds that could easily be placed onto paper just by remembering the episodes in sequence. There is a reason Oda is known as the master of world building to this day.

Along with world, Oda has filled it with countless characters that will rarely fail to grip onto your mind and heart. Countless times Oda has taken what many would see as shallow fodder in other shows, and given them their own unique past and has able to make such a simple character memorable. He never fails to jerk tears from your eyes with backstories that make you feel for even the most otherwise despised of villains. By the end of the arc characters that you may still hate, Oda constantly reminds you of their humanity and past so that you can at the very least understand them. The respect that Oda shows to side characters is naturally deepened for the main cast of One Piece, and you will find you loving each member of the Straw Hats as well as others with each arc you experience.

These are the reasons I ask you respectably to watch One Piece. It is truly a story unlike any other, and written by a man who has given many years and constant struggles so that we may experience and enjoy what he has created. I ask that you give it a chance, and allow it to capture your heart the same way it did mine and many others.

Short Review:

One Piece to me is Romantic, no, not the "Pretty flowers or Love-Dovey" kind, but the "Promise of An Adventure, The Image of a life spent chasing after a goal or achieving a dream, and to see the all that imagination has to offer from the brilliant mind of Oda Eiichiro". Even though, the huge amount seems daunting, it's fine. Take your time. We,your fellow readers, will patiently await you arrival abroad the ship.

Long Review:

A lot of people say One Piece fans make it seem Bigger than Life. Well,of course. Have you read about the guy who was going through depression, complementing sucide but one day after picking up One Piece,he kept reading and reading and because of something a character you said, he was inspired. He highlighted that quote,came back to it time after time and the quote gave him power to turn his life around.

I can't speak for that guy,but personally One Piece has been part of my life from Late Elementary School to End of Highschool(and looks like it will be following me into College as well). Week to week, I have enjoyed it not only as a work of Fiction but also as a source of inspiration. By tackling issues like Class discrimination, Race discrimination, Abuse of power,poverty, and much more, it has taught you to be better person than any thing at school.

Heck, the reason where I am today(graduating high school with a GPA of 3.75 ) all started because in 7th grade, I decided I am gonna study a lot, get a good job and buy all the One Piece Volumes. Thinking back,the reason is so freaking silly,but hey Inspiration comes in many forms.

Also a little rant :

One of the dumbest reason I have seen people rate One Piece low is because the main characters are Pirates yet they don't act like historical real-life pirates. Let me tell you why you DON'T wanna be one of those people, and save you from the embrassment;

Naruto is a ninja who wears bright color jumpsuits.
Goku is an alien, but to this day Humanity hasn't encountered Aliens.
No reports of Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs playing card games.
You cannot catch real-life animals in a spherical objects.
You can't kill a person by writing their name in a notebook.

Do you see how DUMB it sounds to say that One Piece characters are not realistic pirates? (For one,it's not even Planet Earth,why are you thinking your reality is the same as the fictional one?)

Now back to the review ;

One Piece doesn't need to be in Manga form, because at it's core It's a STORY. It doesn't rely on shock factors, or something as simple as creating a fictional character that shows off it's fictional strength by destroying fictional stuff. And Unlike the cries of it's haters claim, it is not a cash cow. Oda Eiichiro was ranked #2 by the people in the list of most beloved authors in 2015. Why? Because for over a decade now, One Piece has inspired,changed, and entertained millions in Japan and millions of others around the globe.

I know there are a lot of episodes and chapters, but trust me, don't skip them. Take a break, make a schedule, Doesn't matter if it takes a year. Once you catch up, you will be the one writing this review.

One piece is great. And big. And huge. There are no other words for describing a work reaching the 1000 chapters goal, and being still far from being completed. But it's not only a matter of physical size. The astonishing thing about one piece is it being still fun and interesting after all this time. The merit goes to Oda, who uses the tradiitional formulas of battle manga but backs them up with a well-thought and coherent story and well designed characters that grow (especially Luffy) with time and with the experiences they make.
The whole manga is a hymn about freedom and following your dreams. I would not be surprised that in the end the "true treasure is the dream itself and the friends we make during our voyege". A theme already seen in other works, but in my opinion no work like One Piece makes it feel so real. There are also defects, too: in some arcs it becomes a little confusing, especially if you follow it week by week. But all in all it is an experience you should not miss if you are a manga lover like me.
I would like to share more, and going in detail about what I liked during all these years, but the review would grow so huge it would be a hadr work for me to write and for who's iterested to read. I can only add: have fun!

One Piece takes a while to get going and can be a rather difficult franchise to get into, especially with its raw length. The series is largely dedicated to introducing protagonists early on whom only improve as it goes on, starting out fairly lackluster. Luffy and Zoro, the main protagonists, are generic and largely exist just as generic protagonists to go through the arcs and defeat the villains. The other 7 crew members all get pretty heavy development with plenty of likable qualities, though, so it's not a slog aside from the start. The series really begins with the Arlong arc a good 75 chapters in.

The series should largely be read for the big villain arcs, as they are the highlight of the series. While the minions of the villains aren't used much, this is largely done to glorify the current arc's villain above all others and is done to pretty great effect. Some arcs, most notably Rob Lucci and Crocodile, tend to drag a bit, but these are few and far between.

The best villains are those whom have dedicated arcs to themselves and are defeated, but the series has massive amounts of power creep with characters getting stronger and stronger. This alone wouldn't be that bad of a problem, as it is expected in most any shonen, but the characters who are built up as invincible threats are background non characters such as Shanks and Mihawke. Constantly glorifying characters such as these who do absolutely nothing over villains who had great arcs gets very tiresome very quickly, and the author constantly dangles them in front of the reader's face with promise to actually use them then never actually does.

In addition, the author has an obsession with not allowing any characters to die, even retroactively resurrecting the most minor of characters. This is almost always a bad thing for villains, as instead of dying they're retroactively humiliated when they show up much later in the series as weaklings. The one exception to this is the Impel Down arc, which is a prison break arc involving a lot of the old villains.

The manga is at its best when focusing on just one big villain at a time in an arc for the most part, and these segments are plenty worth reading the manga for. The only big continuity comes from the Impel Down and Marineford arcs, which brings everything to a pretty satisfying climax and may as well be the end of the manga, as only a few relatively episodic arcs have been written after it.

One Piece does a great job of world building as it goes along, introducing dozens of characters and locations it goes out of its way to develop and make memorable. The manga begins to go a bit overboard with the quantity of characters it produces, as the author is incredibly ambitious with his assumption that he'll get around to using them all. The flood of characters can make it difficult to get some of the earlier styled arcs focusing on a single villain, especially after Marineford.

As messy as One Piece can be, at its core it is a very simple shonen that does little to subvert the genre with good climaxes and fights, which is great if that's what you're looking for. Later on, some of the villains decay and the protagonists become too powerful for the villains to put up much fight, but the best moments of the manga are already past you at that point.

Chapter 731 is just one of my all-time favourite scenes from any storytelling medium and the whole series keeps a consistently great quality which is rare for Shounen Manga!

The characters are all great; each with their own unique goals and characteristics, Luffy for example is trying to become King of the Pirates and there a lot of fantastic dilemmas and themes that arise from said goal. The narrative mostly revolves around the characters but in some instances, the focus is entirely on atmosphere and the setting which makes One Piece very unique as a series.

Each Arc has something new and takes another step in developing these wonderful characters but it takes it's time and that's a good thing. The pacing of the series is excellent because it lets the reader have a break and balances the action perfectly with the comedy!

Just an All-time Classic.

I could go on for a long while about how much I love this manga, so I'll try to cut it down to a few short paragraphs.

First, there's the story. oh my god is it amazing. The way the plot is written and presented to the reader is as good as it can get, the amazing highpoints in the story are almost unmatched when compared to other shonen manga and you can tell through the writing just how much time was put into the sagas and how the arcs seemlessly transition into eachother.

Secondly, the characters, the way they are written by (G)Oda is absolutely astounding, the way the characters converse with one another gives off a real feeling of a group of real friends. Every character not only has their own ideals and dreams, but them joining the crew gives a natural way of them achieving their goals in life and gives a good reason of why they are on the crew. With every character having an arc to show them in the stagelight and to give a good idea of their traits and personality.

The shortest thing to comment on, the art. Oda has a very expressive style with his work that gives all of his characters a chance to come to life on the page they are on. Not only that, but the way that the biggest moments are placed over unbelievably detailed double-page spreads that allow his art to tell the story without having to say anything.

Finally, my overall enjoyment. i was reading this on the official Viz app so I was limited to 100 chapters per day, and i wish i wasn't, I would wake up and read until I finished 100, and that wasn't enough. I remember reading through them all and that not being enough, only wanting to see what happens in the next chapter. I enjoyed it so much I began to empathise with the situation the characters were in.

Overall, an easy 10/10 and the best piece of fiction I have ever consumed.

Throughout the internet people always says that one piece is too much to spending your precious time on it. Bullshit. You don't have to start from a specific part and all that thing about "how to start watching/reading (a long-time show) that people are too lazy to just sit down and enjoy watching". You may have seen this kind of videos all across the youtube. Same thing anytime. People don't have "time" and come up with this shortcut to everything. Shut up and watch from the very start, from chapter 1. And that's it. Stop making excuses and begin doing it. As any person on the planet already said, the world building is the REAL THING here. Unlike people think, one piece doesn't waste one single chapter to improve its world building. Just keep going. Chapter 1 to 1000. Oda doesn't loses any time to show us, how the world are much bigger than we thought. While Luffy is in an island, messing around, the world's moving. People making war, agreements being made, falling kingdoms, groups betraying each other, all sorts of things. And all of that impacts on Luffy's journey in some way. As his actions too. All come together. It's so beautiful to see strawhat's relationship growing as the story unfolds. And there's the two greatest things about the show. So catchy. If you wanna do it right, start from the beginning. Take it from me. Besides the boring beginning, and everyone says that, it's a really gorgeous journey. When you notice how far did you get, then you'll find out how the story have grow up. Quit talking and begin doing. You'll have the most beautiful time of your life. I can't put in words the importance of this series to me and to many other people out there. Is a thing that you must see for yourself. See to believe, you know. And don't mind the fandom, they all sucks in any piece of entertainment.

One Piece is a great manga that should have ended years ago.

I have been reading on/off for about 10 years now (holy shit), checking in periodically and binging several chapters until I'm caught up. I dropped it fairly recently, though, because while it's without a doubt the most popular shonen out there now, the story has become so bloated, uninteresting and formulaic that I can no longer enjoy it.

It's a shame that my desire to catch up/finish One Piece has flat-lined, as the manga has a great deal going for it. You have tense and engaging story arcs like Impel Down and Water 7/Enies Lobby. While it's not for everyone, Eiichiro Oda's art style is highly unique and stylized, making it stand out from everything on the shelf; it's cartoony aesthetic is part of the charm of the series.

But the problem stems from the inconsistencies within the story. You may get a great storyline but it's sandwiched in-between two more bland ones. Each new arc introduces a great deal of new characters, and sadly nowadays their main distinguishing factors are their speech mannerisms - half the time you'll forget about 90% of them when the Straw Hats wrap up their fights. And my god, can there be 5 panels without a shot of someone crying excessively? These aspects are repeated verbatim each time the crew reaches a new spot, and honestly, it's kind of stale at this point.

You are free to keep enjoying One Piece, but I'm clocking out.

If i had to describe one piece in one word it would be "Masterpiece"

When i first started one piece i was hesitant because of how long it was
but now that I caught up with it one piece i am not disappointed at all
Because it's great and one of the greatest shounen manga.

It has been a while since i last one piece. the manga start to come out irregularly few months, so i turned to scanlation but the translation was horrible, the enjoyment wasn't the same.


One of the most influential german magazine ( Der zeit or Der spiegel i forgot which one) in oe of its article “ who killed the great american romance “ stated that because of emancipation, woman can have succesful career as a result, now in Hollywood romantic movies the woman is depicted as more succesful and smarter than the man,. People are ok with this and it’s acceptable
Oda was able to succesfully perceived this, as a resort when Usually in manga girls are only sweetener , weak , and dependent creature who sooner or later will fall in love with the main characters. Nami and robin are strong , smart and can’t hold their ground. Yes there are lot of fan services from these two, but sexy girls have rights to flaunt their body.
Oda also has a way to get fresh ideas for the story. You know Usop pirates gallery right? Long before the first appearence of brooke. A fan submitted a drawing of one piece crew in skeletal form, ( Sorry i forgot in wich volume the drawing appeared. Another drawing showed the crew in women dresses.. He has plenty of inspiration.
Personally , to me OP should have ended at volume 55. Oda had intended to end OP a long time ago. Why, because personally i dislike the current artwork of nami and robin , the fisherman island saga also dissapointed me. The crew used to get what they want without other people’s help, they can survive without being burden. But a powerful figure in OP world sacrificed himself for the crew . It felt so wrong
