Koe no Katachi review
I’m trying to parse through what I just read. This story, A silent voice, was nothing like I expected. I thought it would be a story of redemption and reconciliation between the bully and the bullied of the past; it’s not. This is a story about self-hatred and ignorance. Or, at least that’s what I’ve seen. The main heroine was disabled, and I thought that it was going to be used as a point of contention for the bullying. For me, that would’ve hurt the show. Instead, it becomes more like the fact that she’s deaf opens new avenues to view the world. Since she’s deaf, she starts to see herself as a strain on the lives of others. Since she’s deaf, an act of thoughtfulness is to learn sign language. Using her deafness like this instead of a way to conjure up sympathy is a part of what forms a strong basis for the show. She’s not even the one you empathize with the most throughout the show. For me, I grew fonder of the main character, the bully in the beginning of the show. I don’t think that words on a piece of paper could even begin to capture the poignancy of the show, but I’m willing to try.
There is a stark realization that the main character of the show, Shouya, is going to be a bad guy when he chalks up all his aspirations to escaping boredom. All his life, he wants to escape boredom and have a good time. He isn’t particularly worried about his future or the consequences of his actions. Getting in a fight or jumping off a bridge into a river for an act of courage is all to stave away boredom. It is visible in the harsh aesthetic of the drawings. The way it’s presented is grimy. It gives this muddy feeling like you’ve gone in the woods when you weren’t supposed to, got so dirty that there’s no hiding it, and when you leave this dark forest, there’s something waiting for you on the other side. Something ominous… That ominous thing is the main heroine, Nishimiya-san, a deaf girl who is unabatedly nice. For him, she is just but an object of his constant run from boredom. His harassment of her is just for fun, but he takes it too far and it all comes back at him. Once he’s caught, Karma has got him in its claws. He begins to get bullied and his mom pays for the hearing aids that her son had destroyed. Nishimiya transfers out from the school and all the bullying starts to get directed straight at him. It’s his ignorance that became his own fall. Like a fool, nay, a child, he did something because he derived amusement from it, yet he never knew what lied beyond the hill: consequences. It makes you empathize with him in a painful way. It’s easy to write off someone as scum for their actions without realizing they’re a human too; the man who hurts is also hurt himself. When you look past their humanity, it can be detrimental. From this event, Shouya begins to become warped as a person. He is shut out by others and shuts others out; he has a stain on his life which he punishes himself for constantly; he is hated by others and in turn, hates himself. From here, he turns from a foolish child into a more docile, self-hating, empathetic human by having it beat into him. Yet, there is no redemption for those labeled as bullies. It hurts to see how the past actions of this boy have screwed him over so badly. He tries to repay all the money he owes to his mother, working a part-time job and selling all his belongings before he kills himself. Can you really blame his ignorance? Even if he learned from his mistakes?
Right before he kills himself, he decides to apologize to the one he bullied. He had learned sign language and he goes up to Nishimiya to apologize which in turn keeps him from killing himself. The rest of the show serves as Shouya acceptance of himself and the world around him. He thinks he needs to repent and to make it up for Nishimiya without understanding the world around him. Nishimiya is more similar to Shouya than he thinks. To him, she’s just a victim of a monster like him who would’ve lived a happy life if he hadn’t done what he did. That misses the point. Nishimiya sees herself as a bog on the lives of those she comes in contact with, so she constantly apologizes, puts on a fake smile, and takes whatever she must while she secretly hates herself and what she thinks she’s done by existing. She doesn’t see Shouya as the monster he sees in himself. Their relationship starts to make the both of them come to terms with their lives, how they’ve affected the lives of others, and what they can do to be both better themselves and fix the mistakes they’ve made. Shouya tries to give Nishimiya the good childhood memories she missed out on, repent, and show sympathy for his actions and Nishimiya tries to be more open with herself and become closer with her new friends, no matter how hard it is. By seeing multiple perspectives, we see that everyone has their vices and virtues and that their ignorance and mistakes shouldn’t leave them to be eternally condemned. Both Shouya’s bullying, Nishimiya’s being a burden and the rest of the side cast who have to face themselves truthfully, along with their past, and learn to grow from it and become better as a person instead of letting it consume them and define who they are foolishly. This story doesn’t serve to condemn everyone or accept everyone. It serves to display that everyone has their misgivings and humanity and it does no good to write them off because in the end, we're all just ignorant fools who need the time and the nudge to learn from our mistakes.
Once the characters start to become accepting of reality, only then can they start to reconcile. Not with themselves, but with their own pasts. Shouya and Nishimiya’s bond served as a catalyst for all this to take place. Two people who were more alike than they ever thought who come together for each other and in turn pull those around them into a spring of change where the rotting petals can fall off and new ones can take their place.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 7: Steel Ball Run review
Y'know the first time I've read Steel Ball Run, I was honestly peed off at Araki for not continuing Part 7 as a sequel after Stone Ocean, completely dropped it at 3 chapters last month. Then I suddenly realised this month I made a mistake and boy, I wasn't ready for all the shenanigans that were going to make me become addicted to reading the long whole 95 chapters in 1 day!

I tell ya, Gyro and Johnny were one of the best duo in the Jojo series. I laughed me ass with Gyro coming up with silly sayings like "Did you say something? Were you talking into my ass...? Because I can't hear anything with my ass! " including the cheese song he made up with Johnny. It makes me sad also but I ain't telling you what happened to him unless you read this manga. Gyro may be acting as a tough guy, but he has the best humour in terms of being unpredictable with his words.

I felt so sorry for Johnny though, like the poor fella, his father wasn't even proud of him being a jockey and kicked him out of the family home after falling out with him after the tragic death of his brother. It breaks your heart man like Johnny is actually such a nice bloke if you get to know him more through out the manga! It's even good that Araki created a character with a physical disability because it really shows whatever life throws at them, they can be super heros also equally as someone who doesn't have a physical disability!

I really wish they made Poco Loco join the team because I found he wouldve been the potential candidate to be a good team member alongside with Gyro and Johnny. Unfortunately we can't always get what we wish for in some mangas but yeah this was a very good reading experience. I just loved the horse racing scenes, including the pair bois going across the desert!

Yeah lads definitely advice you to read the whole story of this manga if Part 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 have impressed you enough!

Fullmetal Alchemist review
If you're into sci-fi and fantasy, with a lot of psychological elements, then this is the right manga for you.

The mixture of reality, fantasy, and science in this manga feels all-too natural. A lot of fantasy novels/manga I've read have flaws (like Harry Potter, where a thousand year-old legend is hidden in a bathroom that couldn't exist a thousand years ago). This, however, has none (as far as I could see). Arakawa-sensei had researched intensively for this, and covered up any holes that a reader might find.

The setting of Fullmetal Alchemist is a fictional world that wouldn't make you feel as though you've left Earth at all. There is a sense of connection between its world and the real world. Once you've started reading it, you will be plunged into a world that is different but a place that you could relate into. This is probably one of the main points of the manga that will hold your interest.

The characters of Fullmetal Alchemist are practically alive. Arakawa-sensei deliberately breathed life into them. As you read, you will find yourself empathizing with the characters. You can practically feel the emotion they have, feel the weight of their problems, and the dilemma of their troubles. Arakawa-sensei had succeeded in giving them their own thoughts and principles in life. Arakawa-sensei gave the sense of being human through them.

Delving into the ideologies, Arakawa-sensei focused on conscience, the sense of what is right and what is wrong, faith and belief in God, and the upholding of one's principles.

What's beautiful in this manga is that it's not all-out stiff-serious. There are a lot of humor, that are like breathing spaces in between dramatic events.

Concerning the art, the paneling is alright, though I find it a bit spacious. I like the fight scenes, since they're a lot understandable than other action mangas I've seen.

All in all, this is one of the finest mangas I have ever read. Describing it in one word, I'd say: AWESOME!
Akatsuki no Yona review
I began reading this manga around five years ago. I remember reading the first few chapters, finding myself busy, dropping it, then coming back around to it. I'm so glad I did!

Minor spoilers below!

Story: 10/10

I love the story of Akatsuki no Yona. I have reread this manga so many times, and each time I fall in love over and over. The plot sounds so cliche and it is listed as shoujo. While I don't think that listing is incorrect per se, there are many dark elements within this story. There's violence and tragedy, but there's also hope and willpower. It's extremely enchanting to read.

Art: 9/10

The art is actually stunning. The mangaka can draw everything beautifully and when we get colored pages I absolutely fall in love. My one point off is for the earlier chapters (which you only really notice if you reread the manga), but my god has the mangaka improved!

Character: 10/10

This tale is absolutely character driven. All the characters have their own personality that they add to the party and I cannot help but love all of them! There's also a HUGE amount of character development for all the characters. You watch as they grow and discover new things about themselves and each other. Personally, Yoon is my favorite character, but all of them will situate themselves somewhere in your heart.

Enjoyment: 10/10

It's a fantasy story to get lost in, what else is there to enjoy? But in all seriousness, I have kept up with this manga for so long because I an enjoy it so much. I have favorite chapters and arcs that I can come back to and read whenever I feel like (or reread the whole thing if I have the time)! I usually cannot reread material, but there's something about this manga that draws me back over and over.

Overall: 10/10

Akatsuki no Yona is not your usual shoujo harem, but rather a story about overcoming trials and perseverance. It's dark and gritty at times and heartwarming and silly at others. Its cast of characters are all delightful, the art is stunning, and its story will no doubt hook you.
Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria review
Finally after 2 days, I completed all the 7 volumes..
Honestly it was a blast although the light novel itself can be said to be abnormal because no human in the story is normal and the level of abnormality they perceive is on a different level.

The character development is the most fascinating in the series like how a seemingly abnormally normal guy who doesn't want to his everyday life to get corrupted and loves it the most to a next level becomes someone who sits on piles of million of corpses with a scar in his soul just for a girl.

The story at start seems to normally revolve around a normal justice based fight between different entities but later as the story progresses it shows the aim to highlight the attachment between main protagonist and the main female protagonist to abnormally abnormal level if talking like the story.

Many people say that they can do anything for the one they love but this story depicts the same thing and pushes it to its limits. You can understand the depth of the story by simple question.
"Can you go as far as for the one you love to do anything, betray everyone even though it hurts in the heart, can you find the person if he/she doesn't exist, search for 1000s of 'years' and lose yourself, your personality, sanity, everything, you go mad but still repeat the person's name a thousand times to find he/she?"

When I completed the 7 volumes, this question crossed through my head, in reality it is impossible, but the story certainly breaks the concept of reality and madness.

I simply love the fact how attached the mc and f-mc, just because of this fact it is worth reading.

In volume 1- It is the best written volume out of all of them (just based on writing, there is another factor that is counted in novels 'feelings'). The story of this volume is absolutely fabulous, although it goes about it an roundabout approach, when it all clears up, you then realize how much enjoyable and cruel it was, it leaves a huge impact on the reader and makes them realize that the normal looking mc is very different from normal, he is still very kind and gratefully cruel in the 1st volume, but when someone considers himself normal but his perception of normal is very much abnormal, that's what I realized, he is on a different plane that others.

In volume 2- Honestly, it was crap... it felt so bad after reading the amazing 1st volume, but that's just my personal feeling, for many people it may be bad but for many people it may be the best on the story. This volume was just acting as a mini switch that was turned on for the main character, many people don't notice but it is the fact that this volume made a hole in the mc. Well.. it wasn't that bad y'know.

In volume 3:4- Basically both the volumes are cannon fodder for the building of the mc and realization of the f-mc that she can't stay true to her feeling no matter how much she wants and also introduces many characters that have screws loose in their brains, like I hate the fact they act all innocent while are very cunning and shrewd but still want to be saved by the mc but I love the fact that how much other characters beg him to save them, he just doesn't give a crap (not now in the next volumes), these volumes also show and highlight the main weakness between the bond of the main characters but that leads the mc to create an abnormally large and limitless attachment. These volumes basically are meant to make the mc set a goal that seems awfully cruel to other people.

In volume 5:6- These volumes are the ones where things really take a turn for the worst and what can I say, it's fabulous. Finally the mc abandons all his kindness and goes for the aggressive, like hell yeah! these were the most enjoyable chapters. The fact that the mc just uses his best friends and sacrifices them while suppressing his fragile and abnormal heart and just crushes everything in his way, he makes an abnormal resolution to crush everything in his way to fulfill his attachment. I love the fact that the f-mc is crying at heart praying not to cut her attachments to him but her own ideals don't allow her live with her attachments. The point where the mc goes to where whatever he does he can't return is reached.

In the last volume - It's pure madness, just by reading it I thought what was the author thinking, is he abnormal too. It's nothing but madness at first, at the start you will think the mc had gone crazy, he doesn't care for anything except for her dear sweetheart. Slowly as he shreds his own soul and abandons his own being and humanity just to bring he back is so heartwarming but his ways became so cruel that he loses himself but still doesn't forget her. At this point at the middle, every word and line makes you cry a thousand tears at the madness and craziness. Every time I read a line my heart ached a lot, I cried a lot but still you can't stop yourself from reading next lines. But I feel like it lacked the impact for the end but logically it ended at the beginning, the later part was just an epilogue, that again will make you cry as many times he calls her name. ( Her name has lot of meaning).

Lastly, it was a very good read and I recommend it to everyone, I will give it a 10 not based on the story any other matter, I just enjoyed and loved the series so much that I want to give it the best review and rating I could I give.

Made in Abyss review
I should say this first and foremost: beyond chapter 30, this is no longer for the faint of heart. The writer is hellbent on making you as uncomfortable as possible when reading and by god does he do a brilliant job at it, and not in a "uhh i shouldn't be reading this" uncomfortable.

Story: 10
Due to the excellent worldbuilding and the fact that the author has hammered home that basically anything is possible in the Abyss, nothing feels forced or deus-ex-machina. The driving force for the main cast is easy to understand and easy to root for, and the obstacles they face along the way genuinely do feel like walls instead of speedbumps (that is a major issue I find with other stories, it never feels like what the protag is facing acts as a genuine threat). Combine this with mini-arcs that hit an uncomfortable nerve (most notably the arc from ~ch40-current), the world around them feels truly hostile and serves as the obstacle.
These uncomfortable arcs feel well integrated into the story, and the author does not include them for shock value or to make the story "edgy" and "gritty". It serves to show the harsh reality of life in the Abyss, and it does so excellently.

Art: 8
I don't have much to say about the art. It's consistent, it looks nice, and it does its job well. It doesn't come anywhere near Murata's level or anything, but I can't think of any faults in it either.

Characters: 9
This would have been a 10 if Riko and Reg were not children; I find that adults have more complex reasons and reasoning that allows for more meaningful interactions between each other and the environment. As it stands however, children being the main cast (apart from Nanachi) felt like the right choice, since it highlights the divide between their competence and the harshness of the Abyss. Them being children also helps so that we instead of see the world through youthful optimism and clarity, and opposed to the cynical professionalism an adult would have had to adopt (i.e., Ozen).
The author perfectly captures the innocence of youth without making either Riko or Reg feel too naive. When it comes down to it, they can both grit their teeth and soldier on, even if they lack technical experience. I would really like to touch on Riko's character, especially how she treats Reg, but that would go into spoiler territory; I would have also liked to touch on Nanachi, but you future readers will have to see that for yourself.

Enjoyment: 10
The characters' fleshed out personalities and clear drives are a breath of fresh air compared to many stories I've seen recently. The worldbuilding is elaborate without piling on too much exposition or unnecessary detail, and the way it poses as a threat to the characters feels very real, in that it is neither forced nor laughable.

Overall: 9.5, though I will have to round it down to 9.
Just go read it.
The Horizon review
The Horizon is one of these manga/manhwa whose purpose isn't to entertain it's reader but to give you something more.Let's start the review spoiler free. The story is really hard and focuss on a serious topic which is probably the worst cration of humanity and that's war.All these we are watching at the horizon is from the view of a child which is really original but aside from the originality The horizon show us a cruel reality without holding back it'shows how terrible the war is and that it can do worse things than dead people we are watching how cruel humans can be.But it also showing us how dark a situation like war is it also show us that even in the worst situation you can find a way to survive and live happy. Also the manga focuss on sensitive and dark topics which are war,PTSD,nihilism the fear of death and it does it with great respect and this is a huge achievment. The art while is simple it's great as I said above it does't hold back to show you shocking and dark moments and the art it helps a lot to feel how a situation like this is in reality. The characters are the best part while most of them appear only for few chapters they are great all of them are like real humans who act differently in the situation they are we are watching characters who have traumatized psychologically from war others who have lost their humanity because of it and others who want to keep living and there we are watching our protagonist a young boy who while he is trying to survive he also has an inside conflict where he is trying to understand if life has a meaning in general the characters are feel real and you can understand them even though they are present for fiew chapters. As I said The horizon is not a mahwa for entertaiment it shows a horrible situation which a lot of people unfortunatly have to go through but it also show us how important is human life and that you can go through even the most awful situation but the greatest part is that it shows what humans really are they are complicated cratures who can create the worst destruction but also they can create the most beautiful miracles.10/10
One Punch-Man review
A stunning mix of comedy and action manga. With the most gorgeous art I've ever seen in a long time.

Story & Character - Onepunchman is not your typical shounen manga. Most shounen mangas follow a weak or wimpy boy who slowly grows up and become stronger in order to reach his goals. Not Onepunchman. The main character Saitama is already so strong he ends all of his fights in one punch. He is literally so strong there hasn't been anyone or anything that give him a hard time. You might think, then what's the fun in watching a story where the character is too powerful? You'll be surprised when you give this manga a try.

It doesn't have a central plot, per se, but the story progresses as more characters and more villains get introduced. Saitama, who started off alone, started getting to know more and more characters, each with their own quirks and circumstances that brought forth interesting storyline. As a shounen manga, of course one of the main points of Onepunchman is the fight scenes. But how are the scenes even enjoyable when Saitama ends everything in one punch? Well, the fight scenes are not only about Saitama's. In fact, Saitama's fights are only around 20% of the total fight scenes. There's a whole lot of interesting side characters that aren't invincible, each fighting strong enemies on their own, and that comprises around 80% of Onepunchman's fight scenes. The characters and villains are all so diverse that the interactions between them are varied. Believe me, you won't be bored.

Also, the comedy. Onepunchman is a comedy gold. Just by looking at the bald stature of Saitama you'd know that this is not a depressing manga. It's extremely fun and Saitama's interactions with his buddies are hilarious. The authors got a knack for inserting humour into the most ridiculous parts of the story, and it works. That's not to say Onepunchman is a complete gag manga. It's got its emotional moments as well. It's a great blend between the serious moments and the hilarious moments.

Art - Absolutely stunning. I grew up reading Eyeshield 21, which was drawn by the same author (Yusuke Murata), and the fact that his artwork has grown so, so much from the first volume of Eyeshield 21 to this masterpiece of artwork that is Onepunchman staggers me. Everything looks so vivid and extremely detailed. Dare I say that Onepunchman has the best art in a shounen manga I've ever seen. The fight scenes look fluid and easy to follow, there are even a few chapters where the pages are just spreads of snapshots in the fight. It doesn't feel like manga anymore, it's like buying an art book.

Overall, Onepunchman is an amazing manga. It's extremely enjoyable and will have you in stitches from too much laughing. I really don't have anything bad to say about this. Please try reading this. You won't be disappointed.
